~ Fast Reply ~

I am celebrating losing 95 pounds and this is my reward.  I've gone through a transformation of being obese, not put together very well, not being able to enjoy clothes I admired on other people, and feeling like a slug, overall.  Now I feel like a million bucks, and I can finally wear the kinds of clothes I used to admire from afar, so to speak, and I am enjoying it.  I'm dressing for myself, so anyone else's opinion of me based on that is cool with me.  Call me vain, smug, whatever, I'm ok with it, because I'm feeling great.  I have worked really hard to get my body healthy and to a place where I actually like it, so now I'm decorating it in a way that makes me feel good.

That is soooooo awesome about the weight loss, NuevaVida! A SUPER CONGRATS to you!
You look beautiful!
(Smiles)

THIS! NV is now officially My Hero(ine)! *WIN*

Here's a video of some folks who really made an effort...and a few who didn't....

a video with something for everyone....daisy dukes...flip flops with pajamas....sweats....
FYI...I do not like the mean-spirited nature of "seen at walmart" website, but I have GOT to admit that some of these outfits are pretty damn funny.

You guys are too damned sweet. Thank you.

As for shoes and daisy dukes, you bet I notice the shoes! I love me some shoes!! The Mister and I actually have a fun little game we play. When he notices an attractive woman I give her a pass or fail according to her shoes lol.

But, personally I've never encountered a
man who thinks a woman looks good in
Ugg boots or birkies. I don't think either
is the footwear version of sweatpants but
sexy their not.

Birkis look good with the whole 60s flower-child look. Uggs would look good on some skinny, big-boobed Asian chick, but then again, so would I.

I think its important that people show up like that. It tells you EXACTLY who they are, and there is no pretense. Maybe there are people out there that are attracted to people that are slobs. Just because you arnt, doesnt mean there arnt people out there that are. If you dont like the way someone looks, dont approach them. That simple. ----> If they approach you, let the games begin.

For myself, if I walk into a party and the people are ratty, dirty, unkempt it is immediately off-putting. They don't have to be pretty, thin, or have the "style" I do but pajamas and torn jeans comes across to me as disrespectful to everyone else.

I don't know that I can agree with that, there are a number of groups that dress like that to fit in with each other, if I were to walk into such a party I wouldn't feel that the people were being disrespectful to each other. It would however let me know that I at the wrong party (unless of course it was a hiker trash party).

So, one day at lunch I decided to go to Carl's Jr (fast food). I got out of my car and started walking to the entrance. There was an older woman about 20 feet in front of me. Sitting on the sidewalk outside the restaurant, was a girl of about 20 wearing raggy slippers, pj bottoms, a torn tank top of another tank top, a plaid flannel shirt and a knitted hat with ear flaps. She was holding a soda cup. The woman in front of me leans over and drops a $1 bill into the cup. The girl starts screaming at the lady "What the fuck are you doing?" The older lady responded, "I thought you were homeless, I was giving you money." The girl screams at her, "Do I look fucking homeless?"

Both the older lady and myself both say...."Yes" and walk inside.

Totally agree with the OP....and I have saw that quite a bit here locally that people show up with stained clothes, hair looks like hasnt been Washed let alone combed....and yes it is off-putting. I have met a few in public for a first meeting, and I immediately think well this is Him giving His first impression? really? lol But ok easy way to weed them out because I think if they dont take the time to even dress themselves decent and have some self respect, why in the world would I put my trust in this person? great point btw thanks
