ORIGINAL: Politesub53 Do you think that makes him viable for top office? I'm well aware of what he's "done", both good and bad. In short, I do think he's SMART AS FUCK, and absolutely think he COULD lead this country... but COULD and WOULD are two different things. Rick Santorum, I believe... in the last debate, addressed Newt's biggest flaw -- that he IS so fucking smart, he has had a tendency to entertain any and every idea/option. In other words, "paralysis by analysis". This, I believe, is his greatest weakness. Romney, on the other hand, for most Conservatives, is still a wild-card of sorts, as many believe he's merely moved to the right in order to win the Presidency. Santorum has his issues with his rigid stance on social issues, and Ron Paul has his issues with his stance on foreign affairs. None are perfect in the eyes of Conservative voters (just as no Dem was perfect in the eyes of Liberal voters), and thus is the process of the Nominee selection.
