So you are okay with Newt attacking Romney for his "vulture" capitalism ?
Can you not imagine ads in the general in which Newt is shown throwing those barbs....and to great effect ?
(sorry I still presume when all is said and done President Obama will face off against Romney)

we really don't like Romney

Do you dislike him enough to piss away your chances of unseating Obama?

Romney doesn't have the support to beat Obama anyway, despite Obama's disastrous first term, Romney is our John Kerry.

I come back after a day and this thread is up to 15 pages.  I haven't read it all yet but I'm going to repeat myself on this post, whether the nominee is
Daffy Duck, Donald Duck or Donald Trump it doesn't matter. Anybody but Obama will win. Republicans and independents and even democrats will show up to vote this socialist hack out of office even if it's Romney.

Tazzy doesn't believe me so we ended up having this little wager.

Edited to ask Tazzy,  if the nominee happens to be Daffy Duck is our wager still good ?

What we have learned from this thread is fairly clear.

No matter how much of a lying, cheating, thieving, hypocritical, abrasive, adulterous sleazebag someone is, there are a lot of people who will vote for him because he has an (R) after his name.

Yes, as long as it's anybody but Obama.

Looks like you're going to repeat yourself about repeating yourself.

I will disagree with you twice then. It will become more evident over time that they can't win without us and as it stands right now, none of them stand a chance in hell against Obama but Paul and Romulus.

Ditto above.

No matter how much of a lying, cheating, thieving, hypocritical, abrasive, adulterous sleazebag a Liberal/Democrate is, there are a lot of people who will vote for him because he has an (D) after his name, but those same people will then suddenly and hypocritically find moral outrage when another has an (R) behind his/her name.

Ablow also said that Gingrich's way of telling his wives the "incredibly painful truths" that he no longer loved them and was leaving them for other women could mean that he would be equally, brutally direct with America about whatever issues he had with the entire country.

Wasn't his main issue with his country that neither his wife nor his mistress was as good at sucking cock as Monica?

Good one.

Obama's approval rating is down, and averages 44%.

But Congress' is in the low teens, the lowest in history, and the Republican party polls lower than Democrats (both currently in the 20s).

So I think your read is subjective.

Only if you can produce a source indicating Daffy is a Republican.

  I think it's fucking hysterical.

You do have to remember, that this lying, hypocritical piece of shit was lambasting Clinton for getting a blow job - all the while he was cheating on his own wife and telling her he wanted an open marriage.

Frankly, I think Clinton was more ethical than any of the current GOP lackeys for hire.  Which, considering his various misdemeanours, is really saying something.

I'm with MM here.

Obama is politically weak (the guy still scores high on personal likability).  But the only way the GOP can knock him out of office is to run someone against him that is stronger than he is, and their field is weak.  Santorum and Paul would be nothing more than speed bumps to Obama, and Obama already is preparing a tax-the-rich approach in SOTU anticipating that Romney will win.  (Newt's shown Obama how to deflate Romney's soft support.)

The wild option is if Newt gets the nomination.  His style is nasty, negative campaigning, and he won't be restrained against Obama like he should have been against Romney.  He'll also have desperation on his side because Obama will have ten times the money to campaign that Newt has.  No matter who wins if Newt is the GOP candidate, they'll have a crippled four years because of the damage done during the campaign.

DarkSteven: The polls show Santorum way behind Obama, true that he would be a speed bump.
But they show Paul in a dead heat, drawing significantly more of the independent voters and an amazing percentage of democrats.
