Regardless of the negative bashing that may take place in the campaigns as we head into the fall, at the end of the day, I still want to hear about what vision people have for the future, what policies they support, what their ideas are around economics and social issues. And on all of those things, the Democrats and Obama line up better in terms of what I want to see happen for the future. Will they be successful? That is a different issue. Our governmental system does not allow for dramatic change that easily. There are a lot of people in Congress to convince before you can move forward with anything. And Congress has become slow to move - even slower than usual. I don't see this as the sitting President's fault per se. This is just the way the system works.

Any of us who want change have to continue to support the current President. I have not seen a single positive suggestion coming out of the mouths of ANY of the Republican candidates. Not one.

If any of you have time this fall during the election, help bring voters to the polls. I had friends who did this the last presidential election, and I am thinking of doing the same this year. They went to areas of the country where polls were tight and helped people - the poor, the elderly, etc. simply get to the voting centers and then get home. If you support liberal policies, anything one can do to get voter turnout always helps the liberal side of the equation. There are more liberals in American than conservatives when you really peel back the layers of people's beliefs. But some of the liberals will not make it out to vote without some assistance (and I don't want to start a debate on why people can't get out to vote - just help those who can't - even if it is offering a ride to an elderly neighbor or something).

Perhaps you should add all the people who have been unable to find work after their 99 weeks of "benefits" run out. Just because claims went down due to seasonal hiring doesn't mean the numbers are getting better. Your numbers are all smoke and mirrors.

Nobody ever said it was good to be unemployed or were happy with the high numbers.

Somehow voting for the stooges who put us in this mess in the 1st place just doesn`t seem to be logical.

The smoke and mirrors act is coming from republicans trying to shirk their responsibility for creating all those unemployed.

Oh and yes, we are firmly and deeply ensconced into the 'Karl Rove Era' of politics. There will be street fights because of the propaganda and lies.
