What's Y/your favorite scent? What do Y/you like Y/your home to smell like? Do certain scents put Y/you in the mood or put Y/you to sleep?

My place smells like bread but that's against my will. I prefer berries. :)

Ahh, jasmine, amber, and some musks awaken my womanhood.

Sweet pea, and oriental noir sometimes in the bath to relax and feel "at home."

Usually lavender (alone) in the bath, and spritzed around the home to freshen, and lighten things.

Mugwort, lavender, and rose petals in my little sweet smelling, sleep enhancing, under-the-pillow dream bag.

Burning white sage around the home to clear and give the air a surgical crispness, which does much to ground me.

Okay, what the hell...

At home, depending on my mood, jasmine incense (imported from India, not the cheap crap) or a magnolia scented candle.

For the (please note) Thunderbird's interior scent, baby powder.

And on me personally as a cologne, Acqua di Selva.

Depends very much on my mood, so my perfumes change a lot (though a few are always present, Chanel 19, Shalimar, Fendi...) but around me I like citrus scents, just love it if a house smells of different citrus fruits (while in LA I am in heaven, lemon, lime and orange trees everywhere) or real sandal wood, not incense or anything like that, just a piece of real sandal wood or dried lavender in the clothes room....

most scents give me headaches. I'm very sensitive to such things and so I use scents sparingly. I find though that citrus and fruity scents, especially cranberry agree with me. But flowery smells give me huge migraines, especially lavender.

My favorite scent is pomegranate.
Berries and soft vanilla scents are nice.
Heavy florals put me off especially roses
but lighter florals like honeysuckle used
sparingly can be pleasant.
Grassy and pine scents make me sneeezy.
The sweat of a man you're attracted to is
usually one of the best things to get a whiff
of.

Oh, and I love the scent of apples. Also Rosemary it has
such a clean earthy aroma.

Lemongrass for the home.
Also early summer all the jasmine blooms outside my window and I love opening the windows and letting the scent go through the house. Depending where I live I try to have scented plants growing near windows and doors. I love the scent of lemongums, roses (but not so much in perfume just natural roses releasing their scent) citrus trees and mint grown in tubs.

Perfume I wear changes between - Yves Saint Laurent, Baby Doll / DKNY, Be Delicious / Issey Miyake, L'Eau d'Isse.

I will often burn scented candles to destress while studying.

Favorite scents -

A lovers skin still salty from an ocean swim and smelling like the sea.
Gardenia or jasmine flowers on a warm evening.
Fresh cut grass.
The wet mossy smell of rainforest creeks.
Freshly bathed and changed babies. (Adorable, when they smell bad I hand them back

)

An average looking person who smells fabulous can be more physically attractive to me than a very goodlooking person who has no real scent. It definitely gets my attention.

Inside the home? I am happy with just generally 'clean' or fresh scents. But I love the smell of bread baking, coffee brewing, that kind of thing. Scents that make the home feel lived in.

On me? I currently alternate 5 perfumes depending on time of day or occasion. Lola and Daisy by Marc Jacobs are my conventional 'designer' ones. I also have Rose 4 Reines, Fleur Cherie and Mimosa, all by L'Occitane.

My favourite flower ever is Daphne.

Once in a blue moon I go from work to my local & shoot a few large scotches & smoke a pack of Rothmans, the smell of whisky, man musk, cigarettes & engine grease reminds me of when my old man used to finish work & come home when I was a kid. A very strange nostalgia I think.

Deep Heat is another memory trigger as is Chanel no.5. The smell of a good chip shop, chinese food. Lanolin on new woolen sweaters.

Inside - vanilla. I only burn vanilla scented candles.

Outside - campfire. That would probably be my inside choice as well, except I don't have a fireplace, so...bad news if I smell that in my house.

I have several gardenias strategically planted near some of my windows,
so when the weather permits, I can simply open the windows and be engulfed
by their soft yet crisp aroma. It reminds me of fresh linens.

I am also a huge fan of Circle E candles, with Bird of Paradise being my favorite.
They have one in leather scent too.

Edited to add - I love the smell of a pipe. Preferably from a man in a smoking jacket.

I have chemical sensitivities and artificial fragrances make me sick, but fortunately essential oils and other natural scents are not a problem.

I just bought some Aura Cacia jasmine massage oil which is actually a tad too strong for me - phewy, I meant to check Whole Foods yesterday to see what brand I used to use.

I use Avalon Organics shampoo for aromatherapy - Peppermint if I am washing my hair in the AM, Lavender at night, Ylang Ylang if I have a date.

I loved the Gardenia trees in South Florida and the Ylang Ylang tree in Costa Rica.

M loves when the house smells from bacon cooking :)

Nothing floral - cut flowers are a sign of illness or death.

"Oh, Aunt Margaret. Sorry you're in the hospital. We brought a bouquet for you. Here, Lance. Smell these. Aren't they pretty?"

Many a time, y'know? And there were NEVER cut flowers at home. No garden, either. I was brought up in a windowless Apt.

ETA: BEST scent? Roast chicken or beef as I come home from work! My mouth waters at the thought of a boy cooking for me.... Couple nights ago, salmon, so I guess any roast - just taken out as I turn the key so that the oven is open, warm air against the blast of cold getting from the truck to indoors.

I can't be specific but I went to Shakespears house over the summer and the garden was filled with different herbs and flowers and it was the most amazing thing ever, like all my senses were filled with the combination.

On me I like girly smells, sweet and light.

On me: Thierry Mugler's Angel perfume
My home: vanilla
Outside: flowers and crisp fall air
On men: it varies, but I know it when I smell it on them.
On the men I have loved, they just had a natural scent that made me swoon.
