I guess I'm just an old corporate fart, because I always find myself thinking, "How are you ever going to get a job with all those tattoos and piercings?"

They are the ones starting their own businesses and actually stimulating the flipping economy instead of outsourcing everything to india.

You are welcome to continue to enjoy your cube-dwelling tho.. different strokes for different folks and all...

(says former creative director of 2 ad agencies in major markets & ceo of a 5 company media group.. with tattoo's)

A friend of mine is a director for a major nonprofit, with full sleeves, legs, back tattooed.

I was all wistful over some ink the other day and thought I would ask... what do you think of ink, piercings, scarifications, etc on your domly type? Deal breaker? Horribly off-putting? Okay as long as it's not the ex's name?

ETA: domly type of any gender, I refuse to accept internet spelllings. :)

Hib, who has ink, piercings, and just one very lovely scarification...but isn't going to be offended at anyone's answer.

Personally, i have never been big on anything, including pierced ears.

And i don't understand why a Lady would want, even pierced ears, either. Seems to me clip on ear rings are just as effective.

That said, i would have to inspect the "Body Art", up close and personal, to truly form an opinion! ;-)

And as always, opinions are subject to change! [:D]

Sadly a lot of corporate America frowns on the tats, piercings etc. And its not so easy for some of us to give up a nice salary, good health insurance and great retirement benifits for a tattoo or piercings. Its one thing if you are just starting out and looking for a job. Its another thing if you have 20 or 30 years already invested into a company.

LOL actually, there is a company with the slogan ... "Outsource to Detroit" ... it only costs 5% more, without currency fluctuations and time zone differences ... [:D]

Working pretty well too ...

Clip-on earrings hurt like a genuine mofo. If you've ever seen a woman with them on, she'll remove them every so often and rub her ear lobes with a grimace, and they're taken off at the first opportunity. They have given me headaches on many occasions. It's like having a clothes pin attached anywhere on your body for hours at a time. Not a pleasant experience. Wearing pierced earrings doesn't generally hurt, big difference.

That explains a few memories (of Ladies [;)]) from my past. Thank You! [:)]

Sexy, as long as the piercings aren't overdone. I adore body modification. But I'm freaky like that [;)]

Sure thing! I remember my mother leaving her earrings anywhere and everywhere. She'd want to have them on, and then couldn't wait to get them off. She'd just reach her limit at some point and get them off asap. I wore clip earrings now and then when I found some I had to have, gosh I always regretted getting them in the end. No matter how pretty they were I couldn't wear them for long.

One other huge advantage to pierced earrings is that you don't generally lose the earrings. If you have 'real' jewelry you don't want to be replacing it  [:)]

Remember those little pads for the clips? USELESS. Like having a vise attched to your earlobe.

I'm in the strange position here of commenting on something about which I don't care either way. But, no, I don't.

On the other hand *Begin reverie* I hope one day that Ms Right will tattoo my name on her butt *End reverie*

Hardware on the nose and eyebrows, though - nooooo. Looks unhealthy. And nose studs look like bogies. Sorry, but they do. Always.

Hm...

Lol, can't say I'm familiar with those pads but remember the screw on earrings? Those were worse than the clips- here lets just literally screw a piece of metal onto your ear and when all the blood leaves finally it won't hurt so much. Those barely stayed on unless you screwed them on really tight. I have some gorgeous antique screw on earrings that I get out every so often, put them on, and have them off in like 15 minutes.

I know it! I collect vintage jewelry on a very small scale, and I have some gorgeous screw-on crystal drops. Which get taken out of their box and admired.

The pads were about the size and shape of a pumkin seed, and about as useful for diminishing pain.

Really, I prefer to carve the letters in myself, it's more personal that way. [:D]

NocturnalStalker -> RE: Body Art on Your Dom (1/28/2012 11:24:09 AM)

I don't like it on a woman or on me.  If you need some stupid picture to convey how "ARTISTIC" and "COMPLEX" you are, you should be struck by a van.

Okay, that's a little extreme.  Maybe stung by hornets.
