I used to feed the neighborhood feral cats when I was growing up. My first job was at a boarding kennel, and I'd convinced my parents to let me bring home a little dog whose owner had died. After that I volunteered and a no-kill kitty shelter and was involved in a few rescues. The most memorable was when I had to crawl under a mobile home to get a mama kitty and her kittens. Still can't believe I did that. I'm claustrophobic and hate spiders lol. Over the years I've rescued/adopted all sorts of critters. Fish, an aquatic turtle, a pair of ducks, a few snakes, even a mama rat and 4 babies. If a critter needs a home, I tend to provide them with one My last rescue was about two years ago. A beautiful black kitty that had been abused and neglected by his owner (my neighbor at the time), then they abandoned him when they moved. He was extremely skittish at first, but turned into the sweetest cat I think I've ever had. When he wasn't feeling well he'd insist on being picked up, then he would nestle his head on my shoulder. He was also extremely sensitive to my moods and would do the same thing if he sensed I wasn't doing well. Sometimes he'd even wrap his paws around my neck in kitty hug. I am DaddySatyr's girl, so I'm not looking for anyone, but I do hope you find what you're looking for. Good luck and happy rescuing!
