Sure, I like to give spankings, enjoy women in Corsets and Garters, etc.
And, I have met some lovely Lady's here with whom I resonate on most (Theatre, the Arts, Literature) of my interests.

But, if you're the type of person whom would pull off the freeway or street to initiate a rescue, then YOU'RE whom I really want to meet.

Folks who aren't animal-people do not understand us and, that's ok.  I'm not interested in a critique of me or critical responses.
I do know some folk love to comment. But, I really do want to hear from like minded. Preferably to me (personally) and not in response to this intro.

You might like to go to my site and look at my Newfoundland. They are such a gentle, loving Breed. Too bad more of "us" don't share the trait.

Me too.  I have done rescue for my breed club.  It is very rewarding.  Good luck to you!

I'm with you there, I certainly gravitate towards people who like dawgs or cats.

Good luck!

We don't run a rescue, but both of our dogs are rescue dogs.

MacGyver, age 3, Ridgeback mix was adopted from the ASPCA. The whole litter had been dropped off there. He is the sweetest dog on earth.

Raider, age 1, Aussie mix, was dumped on the streets with 2 litter mates at 8weeks old. Was picked up by animal control and scheduled to be put to sleep before So Cal Aussie rescue stepped in. He was such a serious little boy, but has grown into a super affectionate goober.

So, I completely understand.

Welcome!

Good GAWD! Even the local vet has Us on speed dial to come pickup a critter who was dumped on the door step. I think all the dogs We have had have been rescues. Saved a couple that were hours away from the "put down" at the animal shelter. You would think they would be appreciative enough to stop stealing the shoes left out on the deck! lol

Both My dogs (an ancient bloodhound and a ridgeback mix that I call 'the pup' even thought he's almost 2) are rescues.

Welcome

One of the first questions I ask anyone that wants to get to know me better...."Are you allergic to furry babies?" Followed closely by, "If you have ANY kinky thoughts about any of my furry babies, you better move along very quickly."

kalikshama -> RE: Anyone into dog rescue? I do "better" with animal-lovers (Glendale, California) (1/26/2012 2:31:05 PM)

I have added you to my Favorites so if I run across any women with whom you might be compatible I can send them your way.

Welcome!

ps - I've never felt moved to do that before.

I walked barefoot for a block chasing a dog that was loose, then walked it all around asking people if they knew who it belonged to, Sadly nobody did and it was sent to animal control who later put it to sleep. I always try to look out for animals, even if it's just to cover them up with leaves and twigs when I find them dead, so it's more dignified. When I was younger and I lived in a group home and if they were dead on the street we lived on, I'd risk awol charges and a grounding and loss of privilages to go get them and bring them home and burry them in the yard.

Loud and clear OP. We run a rescue home for animals waiting for their permanent homes. I've had everything from cats and dogs to snakes, chinchillas and birds in my home. Love 'em. My Horatio was a rescue who came to me when 5 weeks old. We formed a bond and has been my companion for the last 6 years. Best of luck in your search.

GreedyTop -> RE: Anyone into dog rescue? I do "better" with animal-lovers (1/27/2012 2:27:33 AM)

good on you, OP!!

My AMos was adopted when she turned up at (as a fluffball) at the concrete cutting company next door to where I was living (she's 6 now).
Cashew was a rescue by one of the vet techs where I had to help my Gracious to cross the Bridge. (the tech found him in the dumpster at her apt.)

I am currently feeding a bunch of semi-feral cats in my neighborhood... and one of them is about to drop a litter (I just wish I could figure out WHERE).

You'll find that there are a HUGE number of critter parents around here!

Welcome!
