You have one news station reporting things with a slant to the Right and several reporting with a slant to the Left. Assuming half the people are right of center and half are left of center, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the ONE station on the Right will get more viewers than any of the SEVERAL on the Left. On the other hand, if they didn't get the most viewers and by a large margin, I'd think they were truly pitiful.

It's a real article Luce and it is true that FOX has a long term #1 ranking but I think if you look at post #6 you would see that it would be truly wierd if they did not have the #1.

More people watch "Jersey Shore" than watch any of the news programs but that doesn't make it a news source either.

It's not that surprising that Fox is number one, since a lot of the other news networks have fallen into Network Decay. I used to watch CNN Headline News quite a bit, but not anymore. Way too much fluff and talk - not enough news. I use http://www.1stheadlines.com/ to check for the top stories, but I hardly ever watch the news on TV anymore. Aren't there are any networks which show actual news?

It's rather like the current fad of 'reality' television programmes. I was reflecting the other day as to what that sort of television tells the rest of the world about the U.S. and more importantly, the people in it. Fox is just a byproduct of the faux 'reality' television fad.
