Howdy everyone, Well, we all made it to February! Status quo here on the coast, with one exception. Wayward relocated to DC for an extendable two month contract. There are also much better work opportunities in that area than he can find here so it might be a long haul. Having met just two months before he needed to leave, we decided to continue the friendship but for practicality's sake curtail the dynamic until we know more about where he'll settle out. It's an adjustment dealing with his relocation; Wayward set the gold standard for me. Still, there's been no shortage of wonderful people in my life and no reason to expect that to change. In other news, the band's doing great and for those who contributed to the "Compassionate Communicators" thread about it, thanks for the input. Everybody's level is up, we're quite dance-able now and should be ready to perform soon. We're having a hell of a good time as a group. Focusing on the music has been a great way to channel the energy reserved for Wayward. Spring's almost here. Hang in there, folks!

Happy Brigid! And Day Before Cranky Rodent Day! I am getting a handle on the explosion of paper and by the time I leave tonight I will be READY to forge on ahead. All digits crossed for a record season, I am trying not to think of just how much I have to earn in the next few months. After that, I'm going to be a cam queen, I need the relaxation! [8D]

As of this moment, I have had no chocolate today. There is a slight tremor in my hands as I try to type. Oh, and as per most on the other side....the silly 51yo twit that thought she was madly in love with me, went poof. Just goes to show that even age and less than super hot photos are now being used by losers looking for online thrills. I was not surprised. There is a veddy sexyish professor type young woman I have been spending some free time with and having considerable fun. It's more of a, really good friends with loads of awesome benefits, kinda dealio.

Just in case anyone is interested, having to change a flat tire in the dark in a not-so-nice neighborhood in Indianapolis is NOT a good way to start a new month. At least it wasn't raining or -13 degrees out.

How miserable, Karen!! But now that you've had the experience, you're done for life, right? Hopefully. (I never got to change tires in good weather, EVER) My parents have decided that we're doing their 50th anniversary over Memorial Day weekend, so I get to be at the BEACH. THE BEACH!! My summer holidays are shaping up just fine.

Aw SweetDommes, I'm sorry you had to do that. Well, I've decided to dye my hair, just a little different than it is naturally, so it will still be red/auburn, just no, er, white over the ears. lol The guy in California I was corresponding with didn't work out after all, of course he was too far away anyway. Even though he said he comes up this way frequently, it never happened. But, I sort of accidentally met someone at a local munch and we really hit it off, so we are seeing if things continue to get better before jumping into anything. It was really snowy around here for a couple days, but now it's turned to rain again. It's not even really cold, around 40 degrees or so. It actually feels warm to me, but maybe it's just my, ummm, hot flashes. I hope everyone has a smashingly good month! NBMG

Hmmm.... we had an eventful and fun January -- although all I can remember is the Ladies (darling boy's Mom and Sis) coming to vist for Mid ATlantic Leather.. it was a great weekend.. they got to see her bootblack -- and they got quite an education in teh vendor area.. it was great fun. We also treated them to some of teh finest french food the city has to offer and had lots of laughs. We emptied our piggy banks to further their steer roping ambitions andthe time was too short. After they left, we started South Beach again in earnest -- we lost about 15-20 pounds last time but have both put a little back onso its time to get back to it and finally get the excess weight off -- I love 5 lbs the first week and the boy lost 2.2 -- she was disappointed but I keep telling her she doesn't actually eat enough. We got to see Vi Johnson get a Leather Leadership award last weekend at the NGLTF Creating Change Conference... the boy's club provided the color guard and we all stood on the stage -- it was a great moment... I'm looking forward to Valentine's Day as I have a few fun things for darling boy and then we have our Anniversary in March -- three years.. we'll be celebrating with a weekend in NYC and then of course a lovely meal here at a great french place... Hope all are well

Today is my one year anniversary on CM. david and I are still together. The grandchildren are growing like weeds. That about sums up my wild and wicked ways.

Hib - it's not a new thing for me to change tires. As implied in my previous post, I've changed a tire in the rain, in -13 degree weather, and in 90 degree weather. I have to say that mid-40s and dry is far preferable to any of the former, but it still would have been nice if it had happened say ... in the parking lot at work so I could get one of my friends to come out and help instead of part-way home where I'm stuck at least an hour away from anyone who could help.

Changing tires just annoys the hell out of me. It's not like tires go bad when you're appropriately dressed, it's always when you're in work clothes, or a good coat, and there's stuff in the trunk you have to move, let alone take everything out ANYWAY to rummage up the spare and the tire iron. faugh!

We are waiting for grand baby number eight. He's coming a bit early, but seems to be on his way. So waiting for that call. I hope I am up to the hospital time, but I know I am ready to meet him! So is my Knyt! He has already claimed grand daddy status, fully agreed to by my daughter who is pushing that wedding thing. I've had a firm discussion with them all, because they were all ganging up on me. I've been having a lot of physical struggles lately and am just not up to par. Everything seems to be centered around what I can or cannot do at the moment and its frustrating to say the least. Knyt has been ever so helpful in it all and his massages make a huge difference in the amount of suffering I have. He eases a great deal of it and tries to go secret service on me... Madam President... you haven't a choice, I am here to serve and protect. lol Now how can I get mad at topping like that? [:D] All I can say is even with life challenges... I'm getting my happy ending.

HMMM. Lockit's Knyt reminds me of me. Hello A/all, There has been no natural snow in a long time and it looks like the artificial stuff is about gone. Alaska sounds better and better. We had a fatality on our hill and most of patrolers are shell shocked. Those of us with a modicum of pre-hospital care experience seem to be okay. There are CISDs for any or all of us. Well, enough of the downers. The weather is great for the local utilities and they are making hay while the sun is shining. Consequently, I am fairly busy keeping them safe while they're out on the road. February has started out VERY well in that regard. Respectfully, Mike SnowRanger

So far this year is going well. I'm healing really well from surgery, doing my hour of exercise and drinking my 80oz of water each day, and have lost a total of 38.8 pounds this year. For the rest of the month: healing more and keeping going with my health plan.
