It wont let me in without paying... lol... no such luck. I found the polls for voters with education. I also found this tidbit...

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/30/education/30dropouts.html

But many colleges — public and private, two-year and four-year — will accept students who have not graduated from high school or earned equivalency degrees.

And in an era of stubbornly elevated high school dropout rates, the chance to enter college through the back door is attracting growing interest among students without high school diplomas.

My father didnt finish high school. Dropped out to help with the family farm. Both my uncles too. My mom finished high school, got married, had kids. Her brother and sister both had college degrees, her brother a masters. My father, after serving in the military, got his ged and college degree. My mother went back to college and got her nursing degree.

I know this happened a lot with many of their era. Kids dropping out to help with the family business, especially in farm land. Poor families had that happen too. The extra income from a 16 year old working was more help, at that time, then two more years in school.

Today, all that "on the job training" would have translated into a high school diploma. The math required to figure out how much seed to plant, or how many chicks to lay x amount of eggs, or how much feed to take care of livestock. The science behind handling livestock or plants. The business plans to get loans for additions to the farm. Business education to keep up on the stock market, FDA requirements, ect.

Did they have that piece of paper? No. But they had a world of education few of us will ever get. It all depends on how you look at it.
