Urban Dictionary definitions of God complex:
1. A person is who is said to have a "God complex", does not believe he is god, but acts so arrogantly that he might as well believe his is God or appointed to act by God.
2. A psychosis based in uncontrolled narcissism, inflated arrogance and a perceived need to subjugate and/or ridicule other individuals deemed to be inferior or unworthy.
3.  A person who has power or control over a certain aspect area such as a website or company, becomes arrogant, and may abuse his/her power.

Just like the title says, if you consider yourself to be a 'master', does a god complex ever come into play with your 'mastering'?   If so, what do you do with it?  Do you reject it because of the ego arrogance stigma that comes with it?  Do you defer it to the subject you're 'mastering' and therefore make it about them so you don't have to face that side of you?

I have received numerous emails from "masters" on this site.  So many that give words portraying they are all knowing, all mighty and know what's best for me.  And yet, when push comes to shove, they whimper away as if I have somehow rejected their almighty wisdom and 'experience' and how dare I do that.  Arrogance.  Control.  Power.  Appointed by god type mentality.  On and on I could continue using the same words that are used to describe someone with a god complex.

The (sad?) part is, there's all huff-n-puff words in print, but nothing more than luke warm (not hot) air coming out  in a one on one conversation away from the computer, if they even agree to get away from their keyboard.

It just seems to me there are many, many, many people in this type of "lifestyle" who present their god complex but only when they are in a protected type mode under the guise of their, er, um, title of "master".

Help me out here.  Anyone willing and able to address this issue?

So let's see. If I get this right you are saying that alpha male doms tend to be narcissistic, arrogant, desire to subjugate others, attempt to assert control of strange situations and have a fixation on power?
Color me shocked.

#1 ----> your profile pic/avatar is creepy as hell.

#2 ----> anyone can be anything they want to be on the internet. they are safe to pretend there. But when it comes to real life interaction they cant pretend anymore.

Its really not that big of a mystery.

LOL Kana  Yep.  But no one will own it.

Seriously, how can someone 'master' if they don't own it?  Okay, now I'm just being the idiot.  Yeah, most say they are a 'master' and that's a title that's relative to one's own perspective.

Agrees with Janah about your picture.

Don't know about anyone else, but The Man has forbidden me to worship and adore him. He knows he has feet of clay. Although it's that very knowing which makes him double check things and therefore not make the mistakes that people normally make.

Perhaps as the truly wise do not tout their wisdom, one confident in his mastery does not present as an Insta Dom.

IOW - delete those "bow to yr new master, slut" emails.

I don't get it.  Your profile talks about what damaged goods you are. And how you yearn to submit.

Then you post here about men who are arrogant.  I'd expect, from your profile, that that's what you want.

To echo what the others have said - if you desire someone who is emotionally healthy, you'll drive them off with your pictures.

If this picture truly represents you, then it says you want to be in an extremely unhealthy relationship where you cannot guarantee that you will live to see another day. Is that truly what you want? Because if so, then why are you so surprised that the only men who attract you are narcissists who cannot see you as another human being, as someone worthy of respect?

It looks like you're getting exactly what you want.

If however, you want to be with someone healthy, then you need to be healthy also.

Right.  It's my personal opinion and based on my personal experiences to date, so there. ;)

It's not really a "mystery" of any sort, just me seeking a bit more of an honest connection with honest communication.   Instead, I'm encountering all kinds riding in on their white horse, no less, who would rather save me as if they are the savior himself.

Yawn.  Those that can't save them self, (try to) save others?  Strikes me as close to a god complex description as one can get.

What I am gathering from your profile and your statements is that you are a person who is broken, incompetent and in need of being saved from herself. Yet, you are angry that people assume this about you.

As long as you represent yourself in this manner, you should not expect people to assume that you are capable and not in need of help.

Again, healthy people seek healthy partners. You tell people that you are unhealthy and yet you are surprised that healthy people avoid you. Do you know the definition of insanity? Doing things over and over while expecting a different outcome.

Change yourself and you will change the kind of people who are attracted by you. Or stay where you are and keep getting the same thing.

The first words of your profile are "Damaged and Fucked up goods" "Less than human"

What did you think you would attract?

Who said anything bout saving? :-)
Ain't no one can save anyone else, that's an inside job.
That's worlds away from being ruled...

Domination isn't forcing others to do your will, it's creating situations where their desires become akin to your own.

"Towards the middle of the 16th century the Ashikaga shogunate crumbled. As a consequence Japan came to resemble a huge battlefield as rival warlords vied for dominance. Three very different men emerged seeking to control and unify Japan. Those men were Oda Nobunaga; Toyotomi Hideyoshi; and Tokugawa Ieyasu. Their divergent leadership styles are expressed in the answers to this question:

`What if the bird will not sing?'

Oda Nobunaga answers `Kill it if it does not want to sing'
Tokugawa Ieyasu answers `Wait until it sings'
Toyotomi Hideyoshi answers `Make it want to sing'"

Which one would you want to serve?

Dear Lady, your avatar is deeply disturbing, and self-anihilistic in nature. Is it your reflection?

There's this guy. He's just a guy but sometimes he would like for it to rain. Since he can't just make it rain on his whim, he'll beat me till I cry. That's his rain and he can bring forth, at times, a torrent of such from me. Not enough to salt the oceans so that dead things float but enough to suit his purpose. He shoots lightening bolts out of his eyes that can cause the Earth to quake.. or maybe thats just me trembling. In that moment, there is no difference. He can crush me with a word as surely as a rock and bring me back from the depths of a dive into the endorphin pool no matter how deep it goes using nothing but his voice. He can make things appear and disappear, allow me to hear or be deaf, speak or be mute. It's pretty fucking awesome actually.

He's just a guy though and those things are just one facet of his whole that interacts in those ways with one facet of my whole. He is complex. He's a human. Part of him is a god, so God complex seems entirely apt as a description. Whether or not that sort of thing appeals to another is fodder for a different thread so I won't hijack this one with speculation but I certainly can buy the concept having such an intimate experience with my own perspective on the subject.

There is a part of me that is your avatar as well.. a part that is less than human and who appreciates, no end, the primal and visceral animal which is allowed out on occasion. There are parts that, over the years have died - they'll never be reborn, but I take solace in the fact that there are other parts of me that have come into existance at the death of those pieces. Those new born facets have grown and thrived as they've been fed. I enjoy the balancing act for what it is and mostly strive for the even keel but going to the edges does have a thrill that it's hard to attain in other ways for me, ways that don't seem to come as easily or naturally as submitting to a dominant man who, on occasion, seems quite God-like and other occasions can be quite child-like as well. And, well, pretty much everything in between, I suspect, like most other human beings.

Welcome to the boards.

Why are you complaining about exactly the type of man your profile is designed to attract?

The type of man that isn't all bluff and hot air, and who won't back down and whimper away at the least bit resistance from you, will skip over your profile in a heartbeat.

The only man your profile will attract are wanna-be losers who have to be happy with the scraps actual strong men don't care to dirty their hands on.

Why would the type of man who is strong enough to get what he wants -including the women he wants- bother with a woman who professes herself to be damaged goods, when he can just as easily get the functioning shiny toys instead?

If you want to attract a strong man who can have his pick of the litter, try by making yourself -or at least presenting yourself as if you are- something worth for him to spend his time on.
