Geez, Cyber, who pissed in your corn flakes? Just so you know, I have been able to peacefully coexist with the wildlife in my area for 15 years. This includes taking steps to make sure there is no garbage or other things to attract bears and not leaving my animals loose and unattended. A cougar did stalk one of my kids one time, but my son grabbed a machete, called the dogs, and backed into the house. But yes, I would shoot a cougar in my horse corral. Don't know many people who wouldn't. I'm guessing you are a city boy. quote:
ORIGINAL: hardcybermaster Interesting choice too Iam. So you go into their home and then shoot them if they go for one of your pets? Doesn't seem very fair does it? Good job bears can't use guns as you would be dead quote:
ORIGINAL: Iamsemisweet Interesting choice, DES. I also live in an area where there are bears and cougars. I wouldn't really call them "nuisances" since it was there home long before it was mine. Nevertheless, one of the reasons I keep guns is because of attacks. If a bear was coming after one of my dogs or horses ( or me, for that matter) I wouldn't be able to wait for help. quote:
ORIGINAL: DesFIP Not to me. I see no appeal to guns. I have friends who hunt and I'm always happy if they get a deer (doe permits please). But I have no interest in learning how. Nor in field dressing the meat. And although we had a drought year plagued by nuisance bears, I refused to get a shotgun despite being advised to. I'd rather wake up my friendly forest ranger and get him to shoot the creature if necessary.
