Is There Such a Thing ? Really" How would you sell yourself? Grammar? Spelling? Puncuation? Honesty? Passion? Can you really put your feeling on a keyboard? Or is it a suduction of words on a screen?

subsslutwanted -> RE: The Perfect Profile (2/8/2012 10:59:34 AM)

OMG I forgot the S on feelings, forgive me.

ProlificNeeds -> RE: The Perfect Profile (2/8/2012 11:08:58 AM)

People aren't perfect, neither should their profiles try to be. It's a lie.

Your profile should be designed to attract what you are looking for. Nothing more or less.

Delilya -> RE: The Perfect Profile (2/8/2012 11:09:02 AM)

You can put your feelings into words. I did and it worked out perfectly for me.

MrBukani -> RE: The Perfect Profile (2/8/2012 11:09:57 AM)

You can express your feelings in words and well formed sentences. Just look at any great writer. Just try to tell something about who you really are.
Puttin you're feelings on the keyboard sounds kinda messy ya know?

Edit hell Delilya, you beat me to the punch now I look like a parrot.
arrrrr [:D]

subsslutwanted -> RE: The Perfect Profile (2/8/2012 11:12:01 AM)

I Will rant more about this tomarrow.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: The Perfect Profile (2/8/2012 11:29:54 AM)

So this is a rant, not an honest question?

Since you moved out of the intro section, I would be happy to tell you once again what people were saying.  Your profile was unintelligible.  You admitted yourself that part of what it said was not what you meant to say.  You also admitted in your journal that people weren't responding to your emails.  Shouldn't that alone tell you that you need to make a change?

We both know you are not really seeking assistance, you just want to "rant" some more about how people could dare tell you that part of your problem was your grammar and written communication.  Have fun with that.

Yes to all, including 'p u n c t u a t i o n'. Proper spelling and grammar is a given. As for 'suduction', s e d u c t i o n is in the eye of the beholder.

I don't claim a perfect profile. My goal is/was to make every effort to express who I am in both my vanilla and lifestyle aspects. I want to present myself in an organized way that requires no brain strain or visual gymnastics for the reader to have to interpret (text speak, bizarre capitalization, sloppy spelling, weird incorrect punctuation.) I present pictures that accurately show me engaged in what I love about my life. I clearly state what I have to offer. I outline the qualities I value in the people I like having around me. On the flip side, the profiles I find attractive will contain the above elements.

I've connected with many wonderful people from this site. Some are/were partners, some just friends. All awesome. I would like to think what I put out there in my profile is what initially attracted them.

Folks may be the nicest people in the world, but if they are not able to express this quality through the written medium they will be passed by. On here, profiles (and forum contributions) are all someone has. Why not make the most of it?

Your profile should be designed to attract what you are looking for. Nothing more or less.

Not only that; your profile should actually reflect yourself, too. If you are terrible with spelling, there is no point in somehow coming up with the perfectly spelled profile, because it will not be reflecting yourself, and it will show as soon as the other person starts getting to know you.

If you are a chaotic and sloppy individual, better have a chaotic and sloppy profile, so as to attract the type of person that would be interested in your type. If you don't see any response, then maybe you need to be more patient. If you do not see any response - period, then nobody is good enough for your kind of goodness. And if you do not want to be in that place, well, then, maybe you should become something different than what you currently are. But first become something different, and then present yourself differently. Because presenting yourself differently is not going to make you different.

OsideGirl -> RE: The Perfect Profile (2/8/2012 11:52:18 AM)

Consider your profile to be your clothes and you're applying for a job.

If you were applying for a job wouldn't you put effort into looking neat and organized?

Rant if you want to, but your profile was horrible. You gave an impression that you weren't willing to even put in the few minutes it would take to spell, to use grammar, to use punctuation. The people you're looking for want to know that you think they're worth some care and effort.

You're looking for an extremely small segment of women. Submissive, bisexual and willing to be in a poly relationship. You have a lot of competition....and most of that competition presents themselves far better than you do.

Yes, of course. My profile is perfect! [:D]

OrangeJulius -> RE: The Perfect Profile (2/8/2012 11:56:20 AM)

If I were you, I would put some pics and descriptions of your actual living situation. You're essentially attempting to purchase a prostitute for you and your wife. Back when I was entertaining those possibilities, I was drawn to stable homes and smiling white people. What do you have to offer these DIRTY FILTHY SEX CRAZED SLUTs, aside from detailed back tattoos and well trimmed pubic hair?

You say you are laid back. Laid back how? That can mean anything from "we smoke weed all day and do nothing else" to "we're only going to make you wash our car once a week, aren't we nice" That "list of house rules" mentioned in your journal would actually be a great place to start.

BoxwineForBrunch -> RE: The Perfect Profile (2/8/2012 12:01:21 PM)

it would have poor grammar, no formatting, contain a passive aggressive attack on the "grammar police", and conclude with an assertion that its authors were "not just sane but very sane."

so, kudos! or, in your native tongue, "kudo's too yuo!!!"

Iamsemisweet -> RE: The Perfect Profile (2/8/2012 12:04:17 PM)

That was hilarious!  OP, thank you for taking this thread out of Intros.

Of course, yesterday you seemed to feel we were "beating a dead horse" talking about your grammar.  Either you don't know what that means, or . . .  Well, I think you probably don't know what that means.

Perfect profile? An empty one. I don't think I have changed mine here in years. Personally I'd rather get to know somebody not just some manicured words they put out there for me to read. For all I know they might not have even written up those words.

Many do not write their own profiles..it happens daily.
