Why is the world so fucked up? - 2/8/2012 8:57:13 PM

Status: offline 		I am watching ABC news and there were these teachers from a school in LA I knew they were sexually assaulting there students but my god after hearing the details I want to go down there with a loaded shot gun! I mean this shit went on for years and no one said anything. The faculty got punished for the crimes of just two people and God only knows how many children have been affected by this evil. The bottom line is that the higher ups cared more about their reputation than justice because when confronted they tried to brush these alligations.

Now on to another thing I saw this thing on toddlers in beauty pagents apparently these mothers have there children on their sugar and energy drinks which have been dubbed crack in the toddlers and tearras world. The parents say their children are fine but my God this poor girl looked like she was a junkie she couldn't keep her words straight. I ask you why is the world so fucked up?

Status: offline 		Too many people have lost sight of what really matters - beyond any socially required structure like schools or behavior aimed at acceptance.

So many people publicly denounce such actions as the toddlers in the beauty pageant, but yet enough people participate for it to still exist - and with a fan base. Someone, somewhere, is pretending. And that's the problem - mankind is lacking in depth and sincerity.

But the world itself?
It is beautiful.
People for the most part are loving and giving.
We can choose to focus on the good or on the bad.
Josh Powell broke my heart this week. He devastated it.
Something else happened to break my dd's heart just tonight (and that broke mine as well)
But I did not encourage her to focus on the negative, nor will I encourage you to do so.
There is more love in the world than hate.
And even if there wasn't, love overcomes all.
Sometimes it feels as if we're losing.
As if we'll be overwhelmed with the negative.
But we won't.
Love always wins.

That is uncanny! I was just looking at my cat on my lap and thinking about how the fact that she has such trust in me, a much larger being than herself and of a different species, and one that could cause her great harm - that she has such enormous trust in my handling of her is an indication of something that is right.

Wait...why does your cat smell like breakfast?

I would say that the main problem in these cases is when grown adults feel that children exist for their benefit. They're too weak and cowardly to stand up for themselves in the real world, so they find children to victimize. Anyone who would victimize or abuse a child is the lowest of the low, in my opinion. I just can't think of enough bad things to say about them. Although, it's probably been going on since the beginning of humanity. It's not really the world that's fucked up, it's just humans.

The deeper problem is that too many people don't really follow any consistent set of principles. Hypocrisy is everywhere. People take oaths and violate them. Others might see violations but are afraid to speak up, for whatever reason. A lot of people just plain don't care.

In my opinion, the world is less fucked up than 30 years ago. And will continue evolving in a right direction. For instance,  now we find out about those assaults. Weren't there any sexual assaults to children in the 50's, for example? Of course they were. But nobody would uncover that, not even to report it.

It's like the ironic way in which some people refer to the "collateral" damages. Well, if somebody drops a bomb over you, it's not much relevant for you if it on purpose or collateral. But remember, not so long ago, in the Second World War, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed. No government, these days, would dare to do such a thing, even in a war. Because their own citizens would bring them down.

And still, yes, there will always be things that makes you wonder "what's wrong with these people"?...

This is the point I was going to make. We are no worse than we've ever been. It's only that it is now being reported. Here at the farm, we are book addicts. We have a set of books that has the big news stories of the decades here in the US. One decade per book. If a person sits down and reads those, you will realize that people have ALWAYS been fucked up. It only gets reported a lot more now.

And yes, children have always been victims. We are just now trying to make changes in that regard, listen to them, persecute their victimizers. Before it was usually just a dirty family secret.

That to me makes this world acceptable as it is - hope.

This is exactly my sentiment.

Yes, there are people who lose their way and who are fucked up and do awful things.  But for the most part, people are good. 

You get what  you see - good or bad.  Put more goodness out in the world than bad, and more goodness comes back to you.
