Wanted to share my new favorite song, or maybe I should say obsession. lol It's an amazing video and song. I LOVE Slipknot! any other maggots out there? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVDAl-aAUHY

Lyrics: SNUFF
Bury all your secrets in my skin.
Come away with innocence, and leave me with my sins.
The air around me still feels like a cage
And love is just a camouflage for what resembles rage again...

So if you love me, let me go.
And run away before I know.
My heart is just too dark to care.
I can't destroy what isn't there.

Deliver me into my Fate -
If I'm alone I cannot hate
I don't deserve to have you...
Ooh, my smile was taken long ago,
If I can change I hope I never know.

I still press your letters to my lips
And cherish them in parts of me that savor every kiss.
I couldn't face a life without your light,
But all of that was ripped apart, when you refused to fight.

So save your breath, I will not care.
I think I made it very clear.
You couldn't hate enough to love.
Is that supposed to be enough?

I only wish you weren't my friend.
Then I could hurt you in the end.
I never claimed to be a Saint...
Ooh, my own was banished long ago,
It took the Death of Hope to let you go

So break yourself against my stones
And spit your pity in my soul.
You never needed any help...
You sold me out to save yourself...

And I won't listen to your shame.
You ran away, you're all the same.
Angels lie to keep control...
Ooh, my love was punished long ago,
If you still care, don't ever let me know...
If you still care, don't ever let me know...

I'm not really into this song, or most of their newer stuff actually, but older Slipknot was a-okay, certainly. =p
Vermillion Pt. 1 is one of my favorites (well, and Pt. 2, too)

I adore Halestorm, among others.

Hey did you know you're making eyes with a murderer?
Hey did you know you're swapping lies with a dirty girl?
In order for me to play your nurse,
Your gonna have to tell me where it hurt.

Hey did you know you're locking lips with a libertine?
Hey did you know you're knocking hips with a killer queen?
Another victim of my method of seduction,
I made 'ya look, but ya never saw me comin!

Come on and give it to me
Dare you to give it to me
Give it your best shot
My love is black and blue

Come on and give it to me
Dare you to give it to me
Give it your best shot
Give me your best shot

Tell me where it hurts
(Tell me when you hurt)
Cry baby cry
(Cry baby for me)

Tell me where it hurts
(Tell me when you hurt)
Cry baby cry
(Cry baby for me)

Hey did you know I'm the spider and you're the fly?
Hey did you know you've got your eyes on a suicide prize?
With a flick of my wrist I'll twist your words around,
you think you're the ace but whose got the upper hand now?

Come on and give it to me
Dare you to give it to me
Give it your best shot
My love is black and blue

Come on and give it to me
Dare you to give it to me
Give it your best shot
Give me your best shot

Tell me where it hurts
(Tell me when you hurt)
Cry baby cry
(Cry baby for me)

Tell me where it hurts
(Tell me when you hurt)
Cry baby cry
(Cry baby for me)

Come on and give it to me
Dare you to give it to me
Give it your best shot
My love is black and blue

Come on and give it to me
Dare you to give it to me
Give it your best shot
Give me your best shot

Tell me where it hurts
(Tell me when you hurt)
Cry baby cry
(Cry baby for me)

I must confess, I like stainless steel alot.   And there is something powerful and dark about cast iron.

Oh yes Master of Puppets - Metallica rules!
I like the older stuff by Slipknot too, just something about the lyrics for me struck a cord in me...

Master of Puppets is a great album – one of the best although I don’t like the title track much. Slayer’s Reign in Blood is another great work. Pantera’s album Far Beyond Driven is their best work IMHO. Testament’s album The Ritual http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqyvVeCCsGM is excellent. For early heavy metal, Black Sabbath's Paranoid, and Deep Purple's In Rock seem to really stand out from that era, and were a good deal heavier than Led Zeppelin were at the time. Although not really as impressive as Paranoid or In Rock, a personal favourite is "Fighting" by Thin Lizzy from 1975, which seems to be underrated by their own fans. The lyrics are better than standard HM fare.

Not many have heard it so a few tracks: Wild One: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCdQcU9BLWk - Suicide: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DdSjflTbgQ - Spirit Slips Away: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9v0hxVz9PQ - Fighting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJ2En_1IfhI - Silver Dollar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvnI-Ss043M

While a fan of some of the aforementioned, I'll add one from my own area: Dimmu Borgir.

Ah yes, something from 'the other continent.'

One band at least some few this side of the fish tank might be familiar with, Rammstein;

Führe mich: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhhr70PSJP8

und doch auch:

Amerika: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y4vIzEkd6s&feature=related

My ability to understand spoken German is still a work in progress, but in the song above I think they are saying "everybody in the world really likes American fast food and foreign policy," or maybe "American foreign policy is like its fast food which is why everybody likes it a lot," or something like that. As I say, translation from spoken word still being worked on here.

BTW, thanks for the Jill Tracy link in the other post, very nice.

Youngest daughter turned me on to Nightwish. She likes Tarja, but that too opera sounding for me. The Dark Passion Play disc is my all time favorite.
