In what universe is there a shortage of birth control? this isnt about the shortage of birth control, this is about the tyranny of the catholic church trying to make all women, not just catholic women, abide by their beliefs.
Please feel free to rejoin reality when you learn the facts

This indeed is not about the shortage of, or any other aspect of, birth control but, rather, this is all and only about the Federal government trying to make all Religious institutions, not just Catholic churches, abide by its ideology in direct violation of the 1st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Of course, this wouldn't be the first instance of Obama and/or his adminstration being in direct violation of the U.S. Constitution...Lybia comes quickly to mind.

If Churches want "rights", they can pay taxes like everyone else. You know "ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL"... So, fuck the crazy religious nuts.

If the Federal government wants to dictate what churches can/cannot and must/must not do, they can revoke the 1st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. You know "We are a nation of laws not men."... So, fuck the crazy anarchist nuts.

Dude, the Constitution hasn't been relevant since at least the late 1800's so save us from your histrionics.

Had you bothered to read the post directly above yours, you wouldn't look nearly so silly.

The government CAN and DOES state what a church can do. If that were not true, Some towns would be free to practice Sharia. Is that what you want?

Not all churches are Caucasian, Judaeo-Christian in spite of your opinions to the contrary.

Actually, in thinking about all this, the religious faction is doing no different than they've always done. It's some few congressmen that have brought them to the forefront and put them on stage and gave them a microphone and cranked up the volume that is at play here. It normally would not bother me much that the religious sector might -try- to influence the law. But when politicians cynically use their agenda and welcome them into the congressional fold against constitutional prohibition of that influence for mere purpose of disruption for its own sake, not only of congress but of society, we are forced to fight on both fronts.

Yes, Conservatives must be tone deaf on social issues because ONLY the Democrat Party and their ilk know whats best for America. What close minded, intolerant, and idiotic thing to say. Doubly stupid as you force your will upon the American people, most of who, regardless of what the media tells you, simply do not want it. There was no birth control shortage, people who want birth control can get birth control. There is no issue here, other than the one Democrats dreamed up in a fantasy of tyranny as they force their will upon the people. It would not be so bad, except that left wing policy puts people out of work.
Enjoy.

OH!! Im sorry u hadnt noticed that after TEN YEARS of GOP tax cuts that everyone is working who wants a job right?....after 8 of those years that America just missed having the 2nd great depression ur GOP party wanted the USA to have? OH wait? u ment that GOP poilcy puts other countries to work like pakistan, india and china!! speaking of the far east,...isnt it right wing policy that has allowed china to own the vast majority of the USA's national debt?? That new phrases like "outsourcing" & "working homeless" are now common??

....that the bail-out that the GOP said was SOOO bad for the auto industry when it darn near was the 1st thing the Dems & Obama had to put into law,.. actually has a CEO of the GM corporation telling the GOP they WERE and ARE wrong and that Obama saved them and the THOUSANDS of jobs of an entire industry?? I guess u missed that interview? oh wait u dont like the media because they'er lieing when they report anything u dont agree with.

and what after 10+ years of knowing that health care costs were running so out of control that its the leading reason for personal bankruptcy?? What is the CONservative way of fixing the problem? not a thing.... other than dont get sick... and dont fuck.

Maybe the health care bill isnt perfect,...but its one hell of a thing better than not doing a fucking thing at all. (except stare at those huge tits of urs!! LOL!)

Lack of birth control isn't going to kill anyone.

I have to disagree with you here. Getting pregnant can cause death. Being pregnant can cause numerous complications. A diabetic can have a healthy pregnancy... but only if they are compliant. Someone with renal failure could very well face a death sentence if pregnant. Many heart conditions might preclude a woman from every having a healthy, successful pregnancy.

I really hate blanket statements.

One of the women at my clinic is pregnant and she is on complete bedrest and getting 6 dialysis treatments per week rather than the usual 3 and the doctor still comes by and recommends she abort every few days.

just a look into the actual cost of birth control with and without insurance(not including condoms, or jels)
I put in 26 because that is the age of my daughter, and chose the pill as the prefered method

Over the rest of your child-bearing years, you can expect to pay:

$44,116 without insurance

What's Included: Twelve refills and one doctor's visit, per year

OR

$7,839 with insurance

What's Included: Twelve refills and one doctor's visit, per year

What if you switched methods?

Total cost over your remaining child-bearing years:

IUDs $5,751 without insurance $2,875 with insurance. Doctor's visit, device, insertion, and follow-up care, every 7.5 years
Implanon $14,488 without insurance $6,585 with insurance Doctor's visit, device, insertion, and removal, every three years
Injections $21,511 without insurance $7,110 with insurance Doctor's visit, follow-up care, and four injections, every year
Birth control patch $44,116 without insurance $7,839 with insurance Doctor's visit and an annual supply of patches, every year
Vaginal ring $44,116 without insurance $7,839 with insurance Doctor's visit and an annual supply of rings, every year
Surgical sterilization $6,000 without insurance $1,500 with insurance Doctor's visits, surgery, and follow-up care; one time cost
Note: Assumes a 3 percent annual inflation rate and menopause (i.e. the end of birth control usage and spending) at age 51, the age at which 50% of American women reach natural menopause according to a study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology. Note that the calculator does not account for years spent pregnant or trying to conceive.

And yet a lot of people were up in arms about the idea that if a woman gets pregnant, maybe the man should pay the bills during the pregnancy. How much does it cost a guy to put on a condom? Plus, last I checked, condoms don't cause/complicate PCOS.
