If I might don my nerd hat for a moment (the feathers set off my eyes): the thing about there only being twelve regenerations allowed is in The Deadly Assassin, and is mostly there to give The Master a reason to try to take over the council of Gallifrey. The (godawful) Five Doctors has that same council offering him a new regeneration cycle if he helps them out with their current problem.
It'd follow from that that with no other time lords about, he can regenerate as much as he wants. (Hell, sucking the energy from the TARDIS' link to the eye of harmony out of Billie Piper when he turned into Tennant would be a pretty tidy explanation of how he got a direct link instead of having a small allotted portion, wouldn't it?)
Of course, the question of how many other regenerations he'd had before becoming William Hartnell is a whole other nerd squabble...

BSB: it isn't just you, no. She seems to have lost the ability to talk clearly while doing that Call Girl series as well. Lip implants?

Going back to the day Rose saved the Doctor. I have a couple of questions.

#1) Why did it cause him to have to regenerate but it didn't kill her?

#2) That's the day Jack became an immortal, right?

Do I look like David Howe?

(I think it was killing her, and would have killed her if he hadn't sucked it out of her first. No idea about Jack.)

From what I remember, Bill Pullman was stealing the show and making everyone else look like amateurs...

I hope you got to see Children of Earth, as Miracle Day was very much of a let down after that one, imo.

I'll stop derailing the thread now, though...

You go ahead.

Children Of Earth is the best thing to come out of Torchwood by a mile, SA.

Well, I don't like derailing threads, but everyone should see Children of Earth. I'll have to see if I can find it to watch it again, come to that.

Back to Doctor Who, I'm hoping Moffat will bring Jack into the new ones, as I'm interested to see how Matt Smith's Doctor works with him.

Now that would be interesting to watch

I'll have to see if I can borrow Children of Earth off someone at the munch...

Must admit for Dr Who I'd like to see the return of proper cybermen...

Would LOVE to see Jack with Matt Smith!! Can't wait to see what happens now that Amy is leaving. Can't be just Rory.. River is too sporadic.. I believe this is Matt Smith's last year as well.

It would have and was killing her. Burning her up from the inside. There was another episode, "The Doctor's Wife," where the energy of the time vortex - the actual soul? of the Tardis - was placed into a human body and I don't remember how long that body lived but it wasn't long. The doctor pulled the energy of the time vortex out of Rose and then released it back into the Tardis, but his body just sorta automatically begins the process of regenerating when his body is lethally damaged (he has to regenerate before he is actually dead - the premise expressed in the very last season).

When Rose defied the laws of time, and brought Jack back to life, she irrevocably changed him and made him nearly immortal (he isn't really immortal, just very very very long lived with freakishly awesome regenerative capabilities.) Pretty sure he actually dies, as the face of Beaux (sp?) in season 3 during the episode "Gridlock" ages and ages into the future history of mankind. If I'm remembering correctly.

Yeah, I kinda sorta liked the show.
