That was a moderately decent attempt at deflection, but you are going to have to do much better than that. You've made some claims in this thread that are still waiting for evidence and support. Care to act like an adult and step up to the plate there?

He wasn't complaining about insurance, since HE DOESN'T PAY HER PREMIUMS. He has ZERO financial stake in it, and as a disinterested third party, the idea that he should have any opinion in what happens in a doctor's exam room is pretty much "Big Brother Communism" in a nutshell.

It's not YOUR CONTRACT as the Insurer.

What's always been beyond my comprehension is that anyone has ever even listened to Rush.

I've listened to Rush. I've also listened to Glenn Beck, Alan Colmes, Free Talk Live (libertarian podcast), and even Air America in the brief period it was on the airwaves. I may be conservative, but I also know that no one can make an informed decision without examining the perspectives of all sides. There are times when I thought Rush was right. There were times (such as the way he denounced Fluke) that I thought he was wrong. The same goes for Beck, Colmes, FTL, and the various personalities on Air America.

Now, I'm not saying everyone listens to him for the reasons I do. I know more than a few "whatever Rush says must be true" types out there, and that disturbs me. I don't care if you are talking about a liberal or conservative personality. Blind obedience to a political ideology or person is dangerous.

So, unless you have a better rationale for their motivation in destroying the privacy of the doctor's office, I'll just go with the #1 reason anyone does anything: They're getting off on it.

I hear ya and agree.

I actually tend to listen to (and prefer listening to) whoever has an opposing view as one I might.

(I already know what I think....sometimes it gives me a new perspective).

I will agree with you on the fact that third parties (other than parents or the insurance company paying for the procedure) should have no concern about what goes on in an exam room. We can find common ground there. But, the fact that you see this as something that must be sexual on their part boggles my mind.

You may prefer to go to the idea that they get off on it. I prefer to go to what, to me, seems more likely: They are control freaks who think THEIR morals and THEIR ethics are the only ones that matter.

At this point, there is nothing we could really discuss. Both you and I would only be approaching this from the standpoint of guessing at someone's motive without evidence. We would both be making assumptions about motive and that motive's potential for abuse. Making assumptions gets us nowhere. So, let's just leave it at we agree on what actions people should not take, but disagree on what their likely motives for said actions are.

Due to how insurance works, what the insurance company covers matters, particularly if I'm using the same insurance company.
