Yup Lucy.

53 "accidental" slurs against the same target all sharing the same theme over three days. Sure thing!

What an accident prone character this Rush fellow is! An accident waiting to happen .... or a walking disaster? Perhaps he neglected to top up on his Oxycontins 3 days in a row ....... as if! [:D]

Lucylastic -> RE: The Voice of American Conservatism? (3/5/2012 9:13:59 AM)

Any publicity is good publicity... his apology wasnt one..and while I disagree with Ron Paul on lotsa stuff including medical insurance, he said it well.
(CBS News) Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul said an apology by conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh to Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke for calling her a "slut" and a "prostitute" was not sincere, and was made only because it best served Limbaugh.

On CBS News' "Face the Nation," the Texas congressman told host Bob Schieffer that Limbaugh's apology "was in his best interest."

"He's doing it because some people were taking their advertisements off of his program. It was his bottom line he was concerned about," Paul said.

Paul referred to three companies that pulled advertisements from Limbaugh's show following incendiary remarks Limbaugh made about Fluke for testifying before a mock Congressional committee in favor of free contraception insurance coverage at Georgetown, a Jesuit university. [One company's spokesman said that Limbaugh's comments "do not align [with] our values." Another pulled out "Due to continued inflammatory comments - along with valuable feedback from clients and team members" about the remarks.]

"I don't think he's very apologetic," Paul said. "It's in his best interest, that's why he did it."

Of all the people in the entire Republican party, It seems that Ron Paul is the only one with balls.

I may just vote for him tomorrow morning in the primary.

Just thought of something tangentially related to the thread: Wasn't Rush gonna move to Costa Rica if Obamacare passed?
He lied. What else is new?

Whether Rush "I have a pimple on my butt so I can't serve in the military and risk going to Vietnam" Limbaugh tells the truth or tells a lie doesn't matter to him...

So Rush invented Fluke's testimony?

Yes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9JLRypv9eA

"What does it say, about the college co-ed Susan Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex."

The actual testimony Ms. Fluke gave, word for word, is available all over the net as well as quoted in this or another thread. She said no such thing as Limbaugh claims, not anywhere close to it, not 'essentially' or implied or otherwise.

quote:

As to what Rush said, Fluke wants government to mandate that her sexual dalliances risk, being birth control in this instance, be cost spread throughout the insurance pool. Imagine an alcoholic demanding insurance coverage for his cab fare so he could safely go out and get drunk, or a drug addict coverage for his needles. Rush's words may have been over the top, but certainly hit the mark.

The fact that you equate nature-induced normal adult behavior to alcoholism or addiction speaks volumes to everyone here the sort of proper distinctions you are capable of making or not. Which is why Rush's words "certainly hit the mark" with you, the both of you having similar prowess in that regard.

Yachtie -> RE: The Voice of American Conservatism? (3/5/2012 2:21:09 PM)

Is Rush actually right?

Sandra has maintained that birth control has a roughly $3,000 cost and this is an argument for "mandatory" coverage in health care policies. Really? Birthcontrolbuzz shows that most birth control pills (they have something like a dozen different brands listed!) run about $20/month, or $250/year. A single IUD (good for up to five years!) sells for about $200, or $50/year. One "implanon" (Norplant, which is good for up to three years) and the most-effective female contraception available short of sterilization with a less than 1% failure rate is $233.20, or $77/year.

Pick your female contraception from the above -- they're all in the range of $50-250/year, and the most-effective form available, the "norplant" style, is under $100/year.

$3,600? That was a bald-faced lie that was intended to run in front of Issa. And what's worse, Sandra appears to be a professional agitator and since she can afford nearly $50,000 a year to go to "school" (at age 30) she can sure as hell pay $100 for her own intentional and premeditated acts, exactly as every single man from 15 years old forward has been expected to do for the last 50 years.

Sandra may not be a slut or a prostitute, as Limbaugh appeared to claim, but she sure as hell is a mendacious *******.

Huh?

"We, as Georgetown LSRJ [Law Students for Reproductive Justice], are here today because we're so grateful that this regulation* implements the non-partisan medical advice of the Institute of Medicine.

*Obama administration's policy requiring that employees of religion-affiliated institutions have access to health insurance that covers birth control...Two weeks ago President Barack Obama modified that policy so that insurance companies, and not the organization affiliated with a church, would pay for birth control coverage.

2) “they're having so much sex they can't afford the birth control pills!”
3) “essentially says that she must be paid to have sex, what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex.”
4) “Sandra Fluke. So much sex going on, they can't afford birth control pills.”

13) “Now, what does that make her? She wants us to buy her sex.”
14) “to pay for these co-eds to have sex”
15) “she and her co-ed classmates are having sex nearly three times a day for three years straight, apparently these deadbeat boyfriends or random hookups that these babes are encountering here, having sex with nearly three times a day”
16) “Therefore we are paying her to have sex. Therefore we are paying her for having sex.”
17) “Have you ever heard of not having sex so often?”
18) “Ms. Fluke and the rest of you feminazis, here's the deal: If we are going to pay for your contraceptives and thus pay for you to have sex, we want something for it. And I'll tell you what it is. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch.”
19) “we want something in return, Ms. Fluke: And that would be the videos of all this sex posted online so we can see what we are getting for our money.”

22) “I'm having sex so damn much, I'm going broke.”

24) “having so much sex she's going broke at Georgetown Law.”
25) “Here's a woman exercising no self-control. The fact that she wants to have repeated, never-ending, as often as she wants it sex -- given.”
26) “She's having so much sex it's amazing she can still walk, but she made it up there.”
27) “Maybe they're sex addicts.”
28) “to pay for her to have sex all the time.”
29) “she wants the rest of us to pay for her sex.”
30) “She wants all the sex that she wants all the time paid for by the rest of us.”
31) “Here this babe goes before Congress and wants thousands of dollars to pay for her sex.”
32) “a woman who is happily presenting herself as an immoral, baseless, no-purpose-to-her-life woman.”
33) “She wants all the sex in the world, whenever she wants it, all the time.”
34) “If this woman wants to have sex ten times a day for three years, fine and dandy.”
35) “to provide women from Georgetown Law unlimited, no-consequences sex.”
36) “so she can have unlimited, no-consequences sex.”
37) “You want to have all the sex you want all day long, no consequences, no responsibility for your behavior”
38) “The woman wants unlimited, no-responsibility, no-consequences sex, and she wants it with contraceptives paid for by us.”

March 2, 2012:

40) “she's having so much sex, she can't pay for it -- and we should.”
41) “She's having so much sex, she can't afford it.”
42) “this, frankly hilarious claim that she's having so much sex (and her buddies with her) that she can't afford it.”
43) “And not one person says, 'Well, did you ever think about maybe backing off the amount of sex that you have?'”
44) “Does she have more boyfriends? Ha! They're lined up around the block.”
45) "It was Sandra Fluke who said that she was having so much sex, she can't afford it.”
46) “By her own admission, in her own words, Sandra Fluke is having so much sex that she can't afford it.”
47) “they're having a lot of sex for which they need a lot of contraception.”
48) “Her sex life is active and she's having sex so frequently that she can't afford all the birth control pills that she needs.”
49) “who admits to having so much sex that she can't afford it anymore.”
50) “she's having so much sex, she can't pay for it.”
51) “As frequently as she has sex and to not be pregnant, she's obviously succeeding in contraception.”
52) “Ms. Fluke, asserts her right to free contraceptive, to handle her sex life -- and it's, by her own admission, quite active.”

UPDATE: added thanks to your comments,
53) "Ms. Fluke, who bought your condoms in junior high? Who bought your condoms in the sixth grade, or your contraception?"

Ahem - during law school, a three year program. Also note that one cannot simply go to a pharmacy - doctor visit(s) are first required.

"Without insurance coverage, contraception, as you know, can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school.

The left's vaunted Planned Parenthood posts Cost about $15–$50 each month. So that's 180 - 600/yr. (1800/3 year) That's a far cry from Ms. Fluke's 3000 no matter how you cut it. And MS. Fluke was not there discussing contraceptives for purely medical reasons but her desire as to recreational sex. Yeah, it would be like a drunk's desire for insurance coverage as to cab fare for his recreational drinking.

mnottertail -> RE: The Voice of American Conservatism? (3/5/2012 3:50:43 PM)

All things being equal and the slut can get a 250 dollar doctor visit prescription and the first pill type works, then at 50 a month thats 850 a year......

Now supposing she is not a slut, and is taking it for other health reasons (perimenopausal or postmenopausal) or deficiency moderations, and the first one doesnt work out, and she can see the doc at only 250 a pop, no adjustments for the year.........it aint gonna be a year between visits, and if side effects occur, that is an additional visit or two, and different prescrips (throw the old one away, no prorata on the unused....)

This 3000- or 30 dollar argument is an I can name that tune in three notes.  Not everybody can, in fact, most can't.

If 850 a year for a college student to get oral contraceptives is no big deal, how much has everyone shelled out for them already struggling?  No need to wait your turn, just shout it out as soon as you've added your bit up.

mnottertail -> RE: The Voice of American Conservatism? (3/5/2012 4:00:48 PM)

These denials of contraceptive coverage impact real people. In the worst cases, women who need this medication for other medical reasons suffer dire consequences. A friend of mine, for example, has polycystic ovarian syndrome and has to take prescription birth control to stop cysts from growing on her ovaries. Her prescription is technically covered by Georgetown insurance because it’s not intended to prevent pregnancy. ......

.....In sixty-five percent of cases, our female students were interrogated by insurance representatives and university medical staff about why they needed these prescriptions and whether they were lying about their symptoms. For my friend, and 20% of women in her situation, she never got the insurance company to cover her prescription, despite verification of her illness from her doctor. Her claim was denied repeatedly on the assumption that she really wanted the birth control to prevent pregnancy. She’s gay, so clearly polycystic ovarian syndrome was a much more urgent concern than accidental pregnancy. After months of paying over $100 out of pocket, she just couldn’t afford her medication anymore and had to stop taking it. I learned about all of this when I walked out of a test and got a message from her that in the middle of her final exam period she’d been in the emergency room all night in excruciating pain. She wrote, ‘It was so painful, I woke up thinking I’d been shot.’ Without her taking the birth control, a massive cyst the size of a tennis ball had grown on her ovary. She had to have surgery to remove her entire ovary. On the morning I was originally scheduled to give this testimony, she sat in a doctor’s office. Since last year’s surgery, she’s been experiencing night sweats, weight gain, and other symptoms of early menopause as a result of the removal of her ovary. She’s 32 years old. As she put it: ‘If my body indeed does enter early menopause, no fertility specialist in the world will be able to help me have my own children. I will have no chance at giving my mother her desperately desired grandbabies, simply because the insurance policy that I paid for totally unsubsidized by my school wouldn’t cover my prescription for birth control when I needed it.’ Now, in addition to potentially facing the health complications that come with having .......

I dont see where she was talking about recreational sex other than this bit, in fact, she didnt talk about herself, slut that she is I suppose.

From Wikipedia -

Sandra Kay Fluke (born April 17, 1981) is an American feminist and activist enrolled at Georgetown University Law Center[1][2][3] who testified before Democratic members of the House of Representatives on why she believed free contraception is generally essential.

The generally refers to conception avoidance and not other non-conception related medical purposes.
