Hihi Simon! :) Thanks for your kind words! You would have been proud of me yesterday - "one of my most masculine moments"... I was covered head to toe with deck stain, scratched by branches and dirty down to my very core (I mean with actual dirt!) But we now have a freshly stained arbor with trimmed down honeysuckle that looks great and will weather and last longer and the plants will thrive better in the coming summer! :)

When are you coming for a visit? Thunder is in July you know. [;)]

Calibirthday is in July as well. Hmmm....

I like men to look like men, but I'm not really all that attracted to the really macho thing. I guess I like a little softness to a man.

Brilliant disclaimers, Lore!

GoddessB -> RE: Your Opinion please (3/6/2012 4:05:30 AM)

I defenitely like to dominate over a macho man, the stronger the better... I dont find it interesting to top a girly or a weak person, it doesnt make any sense to me or feed my strong side that like to conquer and subdue a strong person...

Hello GoddessB and welcome to the forums! You know, I suspect that you were not equating being girly to being weak in your post above, but I just wanted to make sure that peeps reading understood that a guy having a female side does not (and should not, IMO) equate in any way to being "weak"- of mind, of body, nor of spirit.

Certainly in the expression of a gender-based kink - the sissy sort of play, there can be expressed flouncing or mincing. All fine and good if that is what a person or their partners are into.

For me, I don't mince. I never have, and I probably never will. Having a girly side for me is nothing short of the greatest strength in my life. I buck society, I challenge myself and others, I "see" outside myself, and I embrace differences that I might not if I did not have this part of me, in me so intimately.

There is no weakness in being authentic.

I think this needs to be a bumper sticker and plastered across the screen of all parties upon logging in. In bright red flashing letters.

AND.......nominated for one of Sunny's quote thingies!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely loved this post. Thank you for explaining things how I've wanted to since this thread was posted. I tried to think of a way to say that when my manly man is dressed in stockings and heels for me, he is nowhere near 'girly' in the way that some people might think. I think people can be a bit quick to think that 'girly' can equal the whole mincing, camp thing, when in fact it doesn't.
Just because a manly man might be comfortable enough in his own body to not protest about wearing said clothes, I don't feel it takes anything away from his masculinity. If anything, in my eyes, it makes him even more attractive and manly to me. I fully understand that a lot of the ladies on here prefer their men to look like men, which is fair enough. I know there are also a lot of ladies who prefer the full TVs, which is also fair enough. Each to their own, as I like to say.
Thank you OttersSwim for making some things clearer. [:D]

I 3rd that sentiment. There are some very important ideas in that post. Gender stereotypes and expectations can be a staightjacket of their own and I think it is important to break free of them.

I prefer to dom an Alpha male. His submission is more of a struggle and gift to obtain.

DominaCeleste -> RE: Your Opinion please (4/12/2012 12:39:09 PM)

I don't do the girly-boy-man but I'm not fond of the testosterone overloaded macho men, either. I enjoy a man who is manly and confident.
