ORIGINAL: TheHeretic Bad plan then. He'll be tried in uniform, and probably executed in the the one they issue him after that. I hope so. The individual responsible has made his choices and he will have to accept the consequences. ?!?!?!? quote:
Of far greater significance is the damage this person may have done to the international project in Afghanistan. After the recent furore over burning Korans, it seems that the chances of "winning the hearts and minds" of the Afghani people appear terminally damaged. And that means the failure of the entire project. Which means that there is even less point than ever in maintaining a foreign military presence in the country. The sooner all Western troops leave Afghanistan, the better. The lessons for those warmongers trying to incite attacks on Iran couldn't be clearer. I don't know that we'll ever learn, tweakabelle. We "installed" Saddam, and then we ended up having to take him out. We were integral in getting Iran to their current form of Gov't. And now we are leaning towards "fixing" that, too. We aided al Qaeda, bin Laden and the Taliban against Afghanistan and Russia and we ended up having to fight against them. Will Libya bite us in the ass? I'm going to go out on a limb and say, "probably." quote:
Let's hope that the failure of this project means the end of Western military adventures in the Middle East. Damn, I can't believe how much we agreed here. lol
