What we are saying, "Swagger", is that while you may understandably favor your own methods and the reasons for utilizing them, and while they may seem to work well for you specifically, there is no One Right Way or One Right Reason for doing things with regard to profile composition. Also, get over yourself; your IQ level does not entitle you to anything here, and we are most definitely not here to please you. If you do not favor long profiles, do yourself a favor (as has already been suggested) and don't read them, but do not presume to tell us how we should or should not compose our own.
My verbose and disjointed descriptive profile works well for Me, and does in fact weed out most undesirables, also saving Me the hassle of having to repeat Myself. I strongly favor My own methods and will continue to use and enjoy them. I do this for my own pleasure and no one else's. YMMV.

In Answer to the OP's question - "Why do people type up novels on their profile? " - my answer is "Because we can".

It also weeds out those who don't like to read, those who don't have the patience to read a descriptive profile, those who are on here for other purposes than I am. Get over it, Swaggerman - and get over yourself!

I'm a little confused. Whenever I set out to read a profile, I skim it first. That skim tells me in a few seconds if the profile is worth reading. So the time wasted is trivial. Doesn't everyone skim profiles before reading?

Yep. Did yu take tha evlyn wud sped reddin cors too?

FR

When I really had a profile, it was descriptive of who I was with lots of examples of things I was doing and things that were important to me. Except for the part of it that had described my experience (one, maybe two sentences), it was so vanilla it could have been anywhere.

My profile did exactly what it was supposed to do...weed out men like you as well as other types of men who were incompatible with me. It also attracted men who WERE compatible with me, like my Master. Neither of us were particularly sexually frustrated. If I wanted sex, I could go out most any night and find it fairly easily, with or without a profile on CM.

Why does the OP think a person with a 180 IQ would be unable to read several paragraphs? Such a  person should be able to read and comprehend them easily.

It's those with lesser comprehension skills who need the dumbed down versions.

Clearly, it's not worth expending his intelligence learning about someone who he wants a lasting relationship with.

That, and the OP is probably still getting flooded with all the 'send me money' scammers that pounce on pretty much any new profile, so he thinks he's doing oh so good with whatever he's got. I haven't bothered to look at his actual profile, but as much as he's carrying on about 'oh woe, I can't read more than two sentences at a time' I'd guess his profile contains about two sentences, with grammar and wording and punctuation about as good as he's been using on this side.

As for me being full of smug, yep. I'll admit it. I am. I'm with a man that I'm very happy to submit to, and he's quite happy to own me, and neither of us are 'clingy' or 'desperate' or anything else besides quite contentedly happy. Oh, and I met that man online. With an even longer profile than I have now. And weeded out a lot of illiterate dumb fucks along the way.
