Violet pastilles.

I thought I was the only individual who likes these oddly addictive perfumey things. They are hard to find. I haven't thought of them in years; now I want some. Oh THAAAAAAANKS, Hibby!! [8|]

hausboy -> RE: What kind of candy do you prefer? (3/23/2012 7:46:41 PM)

chocolate covered gummi bears are the absolute bomb.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: What kind of candy do you prefer? (3/23/2012 8:08:47 PM)

I like perfumey things, except for lavender[:'(]. I used to get violet gum, too, but that is super hard to find.

Chocolate covered gummi bears? Works for me!

Where do you get them Haus, or do you make your own?

I have found them in two places. Bulk candy stores at the mall (the places where you scoop and pay by the lb) and I have also see them at Harry & Davids

YourHibness, look what I found for you!

That's exactly the stuff!! Same company makes a violet and a lemon pastille, but in a flat tablet shape. Yay!

There is some burnt rice candy here that is the bomb. I also like the pumpkin candy here and pine flavored candy. It tastes like Christmas smells!

puts in my vote for Canday Apples.. the good kind.. with the tart green apple underneath that thick red bad for you hard shell... or yeah and carmel apples.. cuz I can convince myself they are healthy for me I am after all eating fruit and dairy..

NiceButMeanGirl -> RE: What kind of candy do you prefer? (3/23/2012 9:43:19 PM)

Candy canes are my ABSOLUTE favorite candy followed by peppermint/candy cane ice cream. Also anything lemon. And also chocolate covered candies with that creamy filling. Yum. But, in reality, I usually only eat sugar-free ice cream or cake/pie that I've made with 2/3 Splenda and 1/3 sugar. My partner's diabetic and, since we're both watching our sugar now, we're both losing weight.

The burnt rice candy reminded me of one sort of candy other than chocolate that I do like, sesame seed candy. Good stuff.

So, do you guys all just eat chocolate?  No other candies aside from the "ganja"?

For ME, chocolate is the 5th major food group. I've thrown away other candies left from company, holidays, grands hanging out, etc....because it just sits. There may even be some taffy in one of the kitchen jars from who knows when, if it hasn't been tossed yet. As others have said, artificial flavourings, especially fake fruit stuff...just yuck. Most candy just does nothing for me.

My favorite come from Germany during the Christmas season and have brandy in them.

See's for my domestic favorite. I buy discount coupons from the Council for Exceptional Children Chapter 188 PO Box 4423 Huntington Beach, Ca 92605. Helps them help kids and you get a charity deduction.

Lindt Excellence Intense Orange (dark choc with orange rind and toasted almond slivers) with a bottle of Kourtaki dessert wine or Saké.

For the diabetics: There are some really good sugar-free alternatives, if you don't mind the added expense and the possibly poisonous Splenda product.
