mine is belgan style truffles smooth sweet truffle coated in 100% coco powder

I'm with you, LP, this kind or nearly ANY kind of chocolate truffle!

As a kid, I was looney for those little individually wrapped Ice Cubes. Haven't seen them in a coon's age, and it's probably a good thing.

Haribo Troppi-Frutti
Just the best. Discovered 'em in Munich in 2003. My "landlady" Bettina has a friend whose parents own a gummi store near the Viktualeinmarkt. Tried most all of them, and these are my faves. Different texture than typical gummis, and much better flavor.

Licorice Allsorts
Damned addictive stuff... first fix was from Fresh Market... Aussie ones are best, IMO, made with glucose and not that poison corn crap. Big-time sugar hit. Not good for me so they're a rare treat.

Really Good Chocolates
Found these in Vancouver about 4 years ago when I was visiting a kinky chick from B.com and a couple friends. The Icewine Ganache is just impossible for me to resist. The Truffles are amazing, too. Least favorite were the peppermint ones, then the cinnamon-nutmeg (still outstanding, though). Loved the Chai-vanilla, the Chipotle, the Lemongrass-Curry, and the Cardamom. And the Champagne-Orange. They have a selection of no-sugar chocolates, too. They ship (too waem, now, I think).

Trader Joe's has some good Chocolate Raspberry Sticks and the orange ones are good as well.

I like most of the Jelly-Belly flavors. I usually go for the Tropical and the Fruit flavors. If I have a craving, and all I can get is a mix, I'll get some small bowls or plastic containers and separate them, because I like to have a few at a time, not just one.

Sometimes I'll go for the peach, watermelon, or grapefruit jelly slices. Sometimes I'll splurge on a couple bars of >70% dark chocolate single origin organic free-trade deliciousness.

Now I've got a sweet tooth and no candy or ice cream in the house. Damn. I've had the Blue Bunny Velvet Cake, Carrot Cake, and Banana Split recently, and the BlueBell Banana Nut Bread, Spiced Pumpkin Pecan, Chocolate Mud Pie, Coconut Fudge, and Southern Blackberry Cobbler. I've gotta try the Strawberry Banana Pound Cake and the Cherry Cheesecake flavors next. Bastards stopped making the Chocolate-covered Cherries, which was killer: "Chocolate Covered Cherries - Brown Rim
Smooth, creamy cherry ice cream with heart-shaped chocolate covered cherry candies and a thick chocolate sundae sauce swirl."

Blue Bunny is just about as good, but around 1/2 the price (1.75 quarts, NOT 1/2 gallon... fuckers think they're being cute... Breyers, Edys, most of them pull that shit.). After I'm all moved and settled in, I'm gonna start making my own with Stevia and cream w/skinny milk and all the fruit and flavor I can pack in. [sm=pineapple.gif]

What, the Ice Cubes?

Moonhead -> RE: What kind of candy do you prefer? (4/12/2012 6:14:02 AM)

Lime juice bricks (aka West Indian limes): these actually have a bit of a tart and limey bite to them, rather than just tasting sweet.

Chocolate coated raisins: particularly the white chocolate ones that you can never find.

Chocolate coated cinder toffee: the stuff that's crunchy not chewy.

Fruit jellies: not the stuff you make with a kettle and a bowl, the little jelly sweets.

Favourites lollies.. hmm..

Hard boiled lollies of any flavour except aniseed; redkins; almost anything by Allen's lollies (particular favourites are strawberries & cream, raspberries, chicos & pineapples); chocolate in general and ferrero rochers. Oh, and don't get me started in the magic of peanut butter covered in chocolate (I'm looking at you, reeces cups!)

High-end dark chocolate.....plain and/or a few combos of it with nuts or other yummy things.

The closer to home-made/hand-made the better.

One of my(and Tony`s) favorite spots to get the real thing......Holsten`s.

Check out the last pic.....and the old glass display you see as you walk in.......that`s where the rainbow begins btw.....[:D]

Does really good dark chocolate count as candy, though? I'd always thought candy was more like a mars bar or something that's all gooey and more sweet than chocolatey...
