julia is certainly very bright and interesting, but I was a little disappointed that she couldn't find a way to work George Bush into this thread

LOL Level....working GW into any thread would lessen the value of the intellect of the discussion...(grins)..Besides, we all have an IQ on CM...Bush? He thinks "Our children is learning!" LOL...sorry, couldn't resist.....(and did it for Julia too!)

LOL Irish; W isn't as dumb as he sounds..... *crosses fingers*.......

Would the Simian In Chief be considered the Madonna archetype or the Whore archetype?

Sinergy

He is "The Fool" archetype...smiles

Isn't this clash of the two roles what the whole lifestyle is based on?  Where else can a woman have BOTH?

Or a man for that matter.  Many of us here know that as brutal as he can be, the Dominant man is also living to protect and nurture us, combining both the stereotypical macho image AND the new-age sensitive man.

Male subs, same thing, being able to have their masculinity yet submit as society has long felt was a woman's 'place'.

Female Dommes, again, almost a role reversal.

I think we'd be hard pressed to find this in any 'vanilla' setting, I'm sure the mindsets would be very similar to those who identify as 'lifestylers' or 'kinky'.

It's not for me.

Anyway I'm much more than BOTH- I'm ALL.

I'm sure some are.  Most aren't.

Well the mindsets are similar because we aren't really any different than vanillas.  It's not that hard to find sexually open and free vanilla relationships just as it's not that hard to find sexually confused and conflicted Ds relationships.

The Madonna Whore Complex is something I think that every woman I know of has seen in someone if she has dated more than a couple of men. If she didn't date someone with this issue than she has a friend that did. I am talking about men that believe they should marry the "good girl" and have sex with "whores". It seems like so many men I have known felt this way about women on an unconscious level. If they were seriously interested in marriage and commitment, then often they were not likely to expect a lot of wild sex. It seems my friends have been through this too.
Unfortunately I know very well of what you speak, especially since navigating into wiitwd/this lifestyle... In fact the biggest shocker for me has been the number of ?lifestyle interested men with the mentality that there are two kinds of women, and the twain shall never meet. There are many people within the lifestyle who are conflicted about enjoying sex with someone they love and respect.     M

Actually some men did express in the thread I began that they had run into difficulty with women who embraced the either or thing, and could not bring selves to be loved for the complex virtuous sexy human beings they were created to be.

I seriously doubt it...  There's nothing I would love more than to be able to love someone with whom I could also have wild/crazy/passionate sex for as long as our imaginations and bodies allowed.   M

I haven't been around a lot of lifestyle couple yet. I have seen this complex with my best buddy and a dom she was involved with. This "I can't dominate you unless you are just my slut" stuff. I would like to think that lifestyle people have outgrown this, but I think that would be naivety on my part. Your experience shows this is not the case.

I guess I could not be with anyone anymore that thinks this way, I think it is well advised to hear how men talk about other women...Because some of this language comes out when they talk about "loose" women, versuses someone they want to date. I will not date men anymore that think that there is a real dichotomy between "good girls" and "bad girls" anymore. I actually ask men I am serious about whether or not they see a real difference.

I agree there that neither will I, knowingly get involved with someone who wants  to decide how simple/complex a human being I'm going to be, or how respectable I am, based on whether or not I enjoy sex with my lover...  Sometimes it's hard to tell before involvement though.    M

Lucky, I see that in the part you've quoted, it says at the bottom of my post (in reply to Lucky...), I didn't quote you and your post wasn't ahead of mine, so I'm not sure why that happened

In any case, I wasn't directing anything toward you, so sorry if it looked that way
