Never really did casual sex, even when I was young. I married the man I gave my virginity to. Was faithful to him for a total of 14 years. Post divorce there were 1 or 2 long term love affairs and one engagement. When that fell apart, there were a few more serious and not so serious flings (this was the time I tried to be more promiscuous). Then my mother tried to fix me up with some guy she'd met. It was a total disaster. He took me to a hotel bar, bought me 1 drink and wanted to go parking!! I mean there were at an hotel and he couldn't even suggest we get a room! I made him take me home to my kids.
Since then its been mostly dry. I got my PET but also miss the cuddling, etc.

Oh and mom, in her infinite wisdom decided a few years the my best friend and I would make the perfect couple. He's gay!! Thanks mom.

Well maybe he saw you drive in (no doubt he was respectfully early) and felt your parking skills were lacking.

Ever consider that?

Hmmmmmmmm?

Our POINT, JJ, is that we are not into the casual sportfucking as we were in days of old. Because now we ARE old, and it's just not as fun as it used to be.

And, I don't go to bars.

Perhaps the problem lies in confusing "casual" sex with irresponsible sexual behaviour.

I'm finding that , compared to the US, folks in Europe seem more ,um , balanced regarding sexuality. Please forgive the generalisation, I'm aware of it.

Sex is a normal and healthy human energy and, if expressed in a responsible way, I.e., honestly, prudently regarding stds and pregnancy, consentually and with respect for oneself and all others concerned, than , it seems to me, there's little problem.

On the other hand, perhaps there's a Mars/Venus dynamic at work here. As Billy Crystal once said " a woman needs a reason to have sex. A man just needs a place".

maybe if you spent less time here you wouldn't be so sexually frustrated
just a thought

Honestly? That doesn't work in real life with women of a certain age. If I were twenty years younger, I would be out and about (well not NOW, it's tax season) being a younger person. These days, pickings are thin indeedy. Weedy, as it were.

true....ish, but sitting infront of your computer isn't getting the job done is it?

Oh to be 20 again, lol

Why would you think people are sitting at home in front of their computers? That is so 80's. Heck I have 3 personal devices I can use to be online, and I don't even like all that technology! It doesn't change that I can read and post while I'm standing in line, riding the bus / taxi, during work breaks, getting my coffee at the coffee shop, working out on the treadmill, sitting through previews at the theater, waiting for a friend who is 5 minutes late, idling at a long red light, walking home, etc.

LaTigresse -> RE: Who needs sex, anyway? (3/28/2012 7:58:07 AM)

Indeed......just goes to show how 'old and out of touch' he is![:D]

I like the phrase Charlie quoted from Billy Crystal.......I live a life where not that many reasons, present themselves. If I don't have the appropriate female company inspiring that specific energy, I don't even think about it. No frustration, it just doesn't even cross my mind.

For ME, the only downside is not having all of that pent up energy to divert to other activities. Fortunately I am pretty much okay with that too. (I am hideously lazy at my core)

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Who needs sex, anyway? (3/28/2012 8:09:01 AM)

I was never promiscuous, but if I wanted sex, I pretty much obtained it. (Men = EASY). I'm sure I could still do that, men are still easy, and I still don't see sex as needing an intrinsic meaning.

When I turned 45, I gave up sportfucking, and it was the right thing to do. Meaningless sex is not good for me anymore, and I can give myself alll the orgasms I want without having yet another reminder of my solitude.

StrayCatCharlie -> RE: Who needs sex, anyway? (3/28/2012 10:37:57 AM)

Geez, I love solitude. It's the occasional sportfuck I , um, occasionally pine for.

Fucking grass is always greener, eh ?

LaTigresse -> RE: Who needs sex, anyway? (3/28/2012 11:26:19 AM)

Nope, the grass on my side of the fence is quite perfect for me. I am very thankful I am the way I am. Very low stress. I can focus on the things in my life that are really important. I get to have drama free solitude without explaining the 'whys' to anyone. My hormones never cause me to make bad judgement calls that could possibly affect the people that are already in my life.

Sure, on the rare occasion I meet a woman that really trips my trigger. Gets the urges roaring back to life. But it's never something I cannot walk away from if little red flags start popping up. I take a lot of time getting to know a person before I drag her into my private life.

That all being said.......I did have a rollicking good romp on Monday evening that began in the shower after my workout and ended with me, rather sore in a good way, Tuesday morning.

Yeah, maybe that's it. I am looking ahead to the next thirty years "alone", in the life partner sense. It's not really a cheering thought, and a roll in the hay does not improve the outlook.

Me 3! I never did have much a libido but I've now figured that out because I wasn't in love with my ex. Now that I'm in love, all I wanna do is bonk his brains out!

<sigh> All good things come to those who wait. Oh and complete their tasks. [;)]

Kaliko -> RE: Who needs sex, anyway? (3/28/2012 7:15:38 PM)

*snerk*......you really thought they'd HELP? C'mon, you know these guys......they can be as much help as a rubber crutch!

As for your op, after some thought.....{sigh}.....I got nuthin......which is exactly what I'm getting! But I'm ok with it, I dont' even do solo sex....it's booooor-iiiiing! If there's no one to cuddle afterwards, it's not worth it.

And the cats don't count. Besides, they don't like the buzzing........[8|]

Now, I'm off the eat my chocolate ganache cake I got at Publix....better than sex anytime!

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Who needs sex, anyway? (3/28/2012 7:23:57 PM)

Pubix is soooo overpriced. Might as well go to Whole Paycheck.
