Judge for yourself. IF Martin and Zimmerman did get in a fight, do Zimmerman's injuries support his claim of being in immediate danger of Great Bodily Harm ( in the specific legal context ) or Death?

Marini -> RE: How close to getting beaten to death does this guy look? (3/28/2012 6:24:16 PM)

He looks like he didn't have a scratch on him from the video.

Good job fargle.

Don't thank me. Disney/ABC knows a good story when they see it, and this one has legs. The news guys have their schedule planned out through the end of the summer on this one. The trial is going to be a fucking sideshow. BUT. It looks like Zimmerman is going to end up having to explain to a Judge, on the record, under oath why he killed Trayvon Martin.

And that's ALL ANYONE HAS EVER CALLED FOR!

Closeup and ENHANCE. Shit, does anyone even see a band aid?

DaNewAgeViking -> RE: How close to getting beaten to death does this guy look? (3/28/2012 8:21:49 PM)

You know, the one thing I don't see in all this is speculation on whether Zimmermann caught up / cornered the victim (who was trying to 'retreat' from a large, belligerent man who might have been waving a gun) and tried to fight him off - self defense on Trayvon's part, and a perfectly reasonable explanation for the supposed 'fight'. Hmmm?

Yeah, but even given the facts that we do have, it would appear that the only person who had a justifiable reason to use any kind of force and then claim protection under the stand your ground law would have been Trayvon. Zimmerman did leave his truck and follow the teen when he was advised not to do so (while not legally required to follow the words of the dispatcher, it shows something about Zimmerman that says he may have been looking for a fight).

Lucylastic -> RE: How close to getting beaten to death does this guy look? (3/28/2012 8:44:37 PM)

If there were any blood on him, the cops would have been wearing gloves...
head wounds bleed profusely.
looking at it close up on a fifty inch screen, he didnt even have a shaving cut

What are the relative physical sizes and strengths of Zimmerman and Martin? Done some quick Googling, but not come up with anything.

Moonhead -> RE: How close to getting beaten to death does this guy look? (3/29/2012 5:00:17 AM)

Given that one of them was black and the other was carrying a handgun, presumably Zimmerman has the smaller dick.

Zimmerman is about 5'9", about 220 pounds. Martin WAS about 6'3", about 150 pounds.

Either way, there are still no visible injuries shown on Zimmerman on that tape.  He has a shaved head, if the back of his head was bleeding from being "slammed onto the concrete," it wouldn't be difficult to see.  Likewise if his nose was broken.

Reports are currently saying that he requested medical attention, and the police chose to ignore his request.  This is another potential failing on the police following procedure.  Although, they obviously determined that Zimmerman's "injuries" were not severe enough to require immediate medical attention.  Apparently, Zimmerman decided his injuries weren't so bad either, since he never did seek medication attention.

Should he go on trial for killing Martin (which I believe he will), his lack of visible injuries will become a huge issue, as it contradicts his version of events.

I don't know if this has been covered yet, but you all know that the photo of Trayvon with his pants saggin' lookin' all thuggish was debunked as not him, right?

Frankly, I don't care what Trayvon Martin was or was not wearing.  I am willing to bet, however, that his pants probably were sagging.  Not because he was a black kid, but because that "style" is currently all the rage with ALL teenage boys.

Again, trying to enhance this as a hate crime would be a huge mistake.  There is very little information currently (aside from one possible slur) that indicates the enhancement should be applied.  On the other hand, there is currently a boatload of information being brought about that Zimmerman did not likely act in self defense.

Now before you go getting all up in arms about that...

With little evidence of the attack being racially motivated (and no one comment and a hoodie is not a lot of evidence), there is a high probability that Zimmerman would be found not guilty with the enhancement.  Prosecutors do not like to try cases they are unlikely to win.

However, there is a high probability of getting a conviction without the enhancement.

I would rather see him get a conviction than see a dog and pony show that results in him not being convicted.

Yeah, Fargle's posted a pic debunking that one in one of his many other threads on this.
(Intriguingly, the poster who'd started a thread claiming the baby gangsta piccies that've been going around was the same Trayvon Martin had nothing to say about that...)

DomKen -> RE: How close to getting beaten to death does this guy look? (3/29/2012 6:21:11 AM)

Zimmerman's claim is that Martin attacked him from behind, punched him the nose breaking it (from behind?) and then Martin knocked him to the ground, jumped on top of him and began pounding his head into the concrete under it. At which point afraid for his life he drew his weapon and shot Martin.

The problem is the video shows no evidence of a major nose bleed and the back of his head is completely unscathed. I do not see any evidence that the fight (if one even occured) was so intense that Zimmerman could have responded with lethal force. The prosecutor who declined to bring charges had to have known the guys dad was a judge.

Also how does Zimmerman reach his weapon, draw it and aim it at Martin while Martin was sitting on his chest pounding his head into the sidewalk?

6' 3" and 150 pounds? Under 11 stone? So this was one *very* skinny kid, then.

I think his nickname was 'slim' according to one account. Fitting, I'd say.

I don't remember there being a separate thread started on that. When I first saw them, they were posted in response to a side-by-side using a more current picture of Trayvon with an old picture of Zimmerman looking all angelic, which I posted as a comment on the side-by-sides the press was publishing using a photo of Trayvon when he was 12 years old. Those other photos were debunked fairly quickly, as I recall. But I'm sure the individual who posted them would be willing to add his own to the list of apologies from all the crystal-ball readers who have turned this tragedy into a circus.

Not even close. Looks like Zimmerman had better practice bending over.

You on the other hand....have been telling some really ridiculous, ignorant fantasy scenarios......

Farg`s flip-side....so to speak.

The debunking is probably on numerous threads. Here's one:
