You know, in the larger context, I've been wondering lately how well I do at actually reading someone's post... reading with the intent to understand. It's so easy to get all high and mighty when some 19 year old master comes here to ask a question or someone with a vastly different viewpoint makes a statement. But I wonder if I'm really trying to understand their statement AND the viewpoint in which it makes sense or am I just getting all bitchy because this is the internet and we can do such things here. If someone comes here and wants to talk about finding a real master then obviously there is some meaningful concept in his her or head when they wrote that... whether or not they wrote it well. In fact, we can all more or less figure out what they mean. It would be trivial to gently coach them in why the word "real" is really ambiguous and how better to express what they are seeking. note to self: try to do better.
