I used to go to great pains to avoid offending christian's tender sensibilities, all in the name of being "tolerant". Then, they decided to get all obnoxious about Christmas, and the whole meaningless debate about saying "Happy Holidays" instead of Merry Christmas. I started getting very intolerant emails demanding that I call it Christmas, since it was "their holiday". Strangers I was standing in line with at department stores started lecturing me, pretty intolerantly, about "Baby Jesus's Birthday". Whatever. So, if I want to make fun of Easter, or any other tradition I choose to, anyone who doesn't like it can line up, anytime, anywhere, and kiss my ass. It seems to me that Easter is the holiday of false hope. But, if you need that kind of thing, I guess false hope is better than no hope at all. Plus it is an excuse to wear a pretty new dress and eat lamb for dinner, both of which I did. And it marks the date when you can start wearing white again. So, it really isn't such a bad holiday.
