Well, on the subject of JRR Tolkien, there is a passage in Sindarin which deals with the beauty of some elf-maid's feet (the word for which is, ironically, "tal"), so I'm inclined to think the man had an appreciation for some of the finer things in life beyond his linguistics. As for making up words, the most difficult part is obtaining a consistent result and workable grammar. That said, an example phrase from a now discarded effort from a good while back went "vısa̩ın ye sī þwa elā̩ðrı̩n, aþēa." ... it was a dead end, but the sound wasn't entirely unpleasant.
