Surely you don't need to google, "metaphor," do you?

Surely you don't need to google "accusation," do you?

Maybe Google "allusion."

And after that, "delusion," which might explain the misconception of one's miscomprehension as insight.

His statement through staff may be as close as you get, DC. He puts the hard left in the communist camp for descriptive purposes.

I haven't seen his "statement through staff" and would love to check it out. Do you have a link handy? Just did a little bit of Googling, and the tpp results were about how West was hoping to use the "communists" kerfuffle as a fundraising tool.

Truth be told, so I wasn't so much offended as startled and perplexed. Was it really possible, I wondered, that someone was breathing new life into McCarthyism 55 years after the late, unlamented senator's death? Part of my surprised reaction stemmed from unfamiliarity with Allen West--who, I've since gathered, has something of a gift for making headline-grabbing comments.

Here's the big problem -

Congressman West is too stupid to vote - let alone serve in the U.S. House of Representatives.

I've heard the man speak so believe he is capitalizing after the fact rather than the Communist accusation being planned.

Hmmm. Collectivization of farming. Interesting. Isn't Obamacare a collectivization of healthcare participants. There's even a penalty if one wishes not to participate.

No, those two are not the same at all, but there is a similarity as to what they want.

You're really not getting this socialism concept.

Your right. I wish not to participate. You gonna send your armed thugs out after me?

Musicmystery -> RE: Communists in Congress (4/14/2012 9:28:48 AM)

Not how I operate.

But dude, if you can only create fantastically false tangents in your argument, consider that you don't have much of a case.

It's in your link from the first post, DC...

quote:

“He stands by the comments,” Edson said. “Call them what you want; they’re clearly people who oppose capitalism and free markets and individual economic freedom. So, if the shot fits.”

Pressed on whether those members are actual Communists, Edson said the label isn’t the point.

“We can quibble about the terminology used to describe them, but it’s clear,” he said. “Whatever you call people that oppose capitalism and free markets and individual economic freedom — maybe it’s ‘socialist,’ maybe it’s ’Communist’ — but that’s the point the congressman was making, and he stands by the words.”

mnottertail -> RE: Communists in Congress (4/14/2012 9:32:08 AM)

So, he is liking the Republicans to communists by that remark?

PatrickG38 -> RE: Communists in Congress (4/14/2012 9:35:38 AM)

If only someone would ask, "How many morons are there in Congress/" we might get somewhere. I actually am starting to feel bad for those people from Florida who are intelligent. It must be hard out there for sane person.

I don't ask my Labrador for its political opinions, why do people ask Allen West?

If you are going to jump back in to the discussion, Patrick, why don't you start by clearing up the earlier post?

Do you think it's ok to compare black people with dogs?

No. The ACA is not collectivization of health care. That you think it does suggests you either have no idea what collectivization means or what the ACA does.

Musicmystery -> RE: Communists in Congress (4/14/2012 9:45:33 AM)

Or Congressmen with yellow dogs, blue dogs....

Maybe that would be a reasonable question if that is what he'd done.

erieangel -> RE: Communists in Congress (4/14/2012 9:59:10 AM)

I think he was comparing an idiot politician (who happens to be black) with dogs.

I will assume you are not a complete idiot and understood the comment referred to his intelligence as another poster was kind enough to explain to you. I do not think being African-American excepts you from criticism even humorous criticism that while obviously not meant literally illustrate that stupid people should not be asked political opinions. I hope that was simple enough.

Your response indicates your faith that the recipient could actually understand what you are saying, such faith for which his indolent insistence that another answer to his stumbling misinterpretation of the originating statement proves to be unfounded.

And I will assume you are a casual racist, who doesn't feel a need to hide it, when applying the paradigm to conservatives. Tell us what animal you would compare Representative Hank Johnson to (he's the one who thought more Marines would cause the island of Guam to tip over and sink).
