LOL. Actually I am very confident with girls my own age. I just feel that if I were with a hot older woman, I might feel some of that junior high shyness again.

Uhm....I'm not sure if there is a miscommunication here. Waiting to get to know someone before jumping in is exactly what I want. Sure in fantasy instant sex is great, but I'm just not ready to meet someone and have sex like that.

Well, stop thinking about it.. far to much and get out there. There is only one way to find out. There is only one way you are going to over come, find out what you need to find out and feel better about anything and that is to do it and keep doing it until you get it all figured out. You may find you like it and then again, you may find that all you project upon the older woman... really isn't fitting for all older women. The longer you wait and think about things sometimes... the harder it is to actually do them.

True, but I would rather learn (and fuck up) here where there is minimal consequence before trying it in real life. Also, as I have demonstrated (and has been observed) I am very ignorant of the culture, and would rather do some research before jumping in. No rush; I've waited this long so getting some good advice here would be of use.

But you're not having face to face interaction here. Which is what you need. Maybe try the vidchat on the other side? The room moves very fast sometimes, but there are nice people to talk to in realtime. As long as you're not a dingus. If you are, they will eat you with hoisen sauce.

In time. I do want to get a better understanding of the domme/sub relationship, and the various forms if there are any, including things like rules, boundaries (if I am a sub am I ever allowed to say no?) and things like that.
