Status: offline 		The op's profile asks people to message him if what he wrote interests them. Logically, he should deduce that people who haven't written back to him, are not interested in what his profile offers.

And what his profile offers is a big red flag. He wants a strange female to agree to no limits slavery with a man who refuses to explain what his limits are. He wants this from day one, without taking any time to earn her trust. As a result, he has gotten what he should have expected to get, no responses because no one is interested.

I find it staggering that nobody's put together a FAQ sheet and stapled it to the top of the forum. Then people could simply point to it instead of continually venting their spleen.

Somehow in the conundrum of life I have never been exposed to that expression before. This is the first time I have very heard such a thing and had to look it up. I must tell you that it conjured a bizarre mental image when I read that.

The formulas for calculating the correct pressures are above my paygrade. I think you need either a doctor or an engineer to run the math.

Status: offline 		Well I'm Australian, so my idiom, although primarily local, is descended from the English variety of expression.

Venting your spleen is connected with the four humours the Greeks used to believe were related to health. Blood, phlegm, yellow bile and black bile. Yellow bile attributed to the spleen was considered choleric or bad-tempered. So I imagine 'venting your spleen' specifically meant you were dealing with an excess of yellow bile by venting it through the mouth.

The US has equally bizarre expressions from our point of view, but the cultural dominance of the US means the denizens of most other countries get used to them and absorb their meaning by context.

I have to clear the 'new messages' though, cause it drives me batty if it just sits there

I agree. In this sort of thread I find both the question, and most of responses, slightly depressing.

Meanwhile, of course, the OP probably buggered off long ago, no doubt because - surprise, surprise - he found people here too rude to want to read their comments. All a bit of a pointless exercise, basically.

agree, but wouldn't use depressing as adjective. some people seemingly get off on chiding OPs like this, and these threads take on a life of their own. others seem to be having a bad day. good or bad, still interesting.

The Ask a Mistress section has an extensive FAQ which is continuously referred to, but that doesn't stop people from ignoring it. Not sure an FAQ on "Why you shouldn't whine about getting no responses" would slow the creation of those threads in the least.

Besides, some of us enjoy venting our spleens.

P.S. We say "venting your spleen" here in the U.S. as well.

Do you answer everything that is in your mailbox? You really write thank you letters to all the people who send you unrequested advertising?

Some people state in their profile that they don't want somebody who isn't <insert list> contacting them, so isn't it rude to write to them in the first place?

As for some of the letters I get in my mailbox daily, should I really thank every guy who offers to put a "cam show" on for me? I prefer to block them straight away....

I agree with poise - and I'd add that in saying you have twenty years experience you might want to give some explanation of just what you've been doing those twenty years. I know some Doms who've got that many years in, but they've just repeated the first year twenty times. They also haven't learned a bit of ethics or Honor in all that time.
Worse, I've seen profiles here that say they've got X number of years in, when their profile clearly shows they haven't.
... Just a suggestion.
