To be honest, I've not had the same experience, as a single male. I've found that the number of wannabe, insincere males who are looking for a quick thrill far outnumber the dedicated, interested-in-serving submissive males that exist by a long shot so that my experiences have actually been quite positive in this regard because once people start to realize you're not a leg-humper who is trying to score with anything that moves, you tend to get a lot more attention that can end up being very positive. Again, we're not talking about immediate results, but again, that's the problem with the other kinds of males who frequent these types of places (they want it right now and fast...okay, maybe not so fast, but they want it right now).
If a single male is interested in exploring the scene, learning from others, and passing on what he learns to others, a place like this is an excellent spot to interact with others. But if it's seen as a "pick-up" place, of course it's going to be an awful experience. That's why the financial dominants and the profiles with 19 years old girls sticking their middle fingers up seem to get the attention they do. They're occupying the immediacy seekers, and that's fine.
