so some places do cover travel costs. I have a friend who has blue cross/blue shield and she has to travel to fort worth every other week. She has a rare form of cancer and she has to have her treatments approved by her insurance every month. I understand that experimental treatments can cost more, but shouldnt life saving procedures be a given with insurance companies?

OH hon you are preaching to the converted here, I believe any needed medical procedure should be covered. But im a godless liberal commie living in Canada so it is what it is[:'(] I feel for your friend, what a damn nightmare to contend with every month just to get chemo/therapy, like she doesnt have enough to worry about. Its bloody criminal

Lucy, it is the problem with American Health Care. Insurance companies can set coverage caps on how much they will spend to cover specific health issues. And REPUBLICANS think this is acceptable.

Lucy, as a liberal, I can honestly say that I see no solution. In some countries, socialized medicine is in trouble, and lets face it, a socialized medical system needs to be funded. In the US that means more taxes, and the Republicans wont allow taxes to be raised to cover the deficit, IN FACT THEY WANT TO CUT SOCIAL PROGRAMS
