I may not always agree with what is posted by others but the fact that this site has not ( in my experience at least) tried to stifle open discourse is indeed something worthy of praise.

The fact that you had a part in promoting that discourse and keeping it focused and respectable is something for which you are/should be rightfully proud.

just goes to show - you really never know. reminds me of people in a different board (where you could also post anon), that always think they're spotting someone posting anon as being someone they know (and usually revile). kind of like seeing their own boogeyman in things they didn't like in others. but lo fing l, your post sure resonated with me.

I think I've gotten two gold letters in all the time I've been here. May be three.

But as far as Gamma's well earned break, I'd like to say that anyone who can tolerate P & R on a daily basis, trying to make them behave at all, deserves all the credit in the world. People there all too often go for blood for sport, not because they are passionate in their beliefs.

I concur. Years ago there was some fire, some spunk (lol), some interesting debates and discussions. Now there is a level of PC and cecdorship that makes one question if the site was bought by North Korea. There is way less activity and what little there is happens to be dominated by the self appointed Board Homesteaders that hit it 1000 times a day. Boring, and quite lame overall. Hopefully it will improve. :)
