They used to have aspirin an vitamins and tubes of cream , stuff from 2000's and below like 99 and my dad thought i was daft for throwing anything that old out, because to him it was perfectly fine, My dad doesn't believe that medication gets old , or that there's a reason to throw it out after so long. so I doubt he would see an issue with boxed goods being 3 or so years out of date. His solution was to try and eat up a lot of the stuff that was so old last time they found a bunch of old ish food boxes, But the puddings in particular tasted really stale and gross. Box mixes don't have things like eggs in them, usually, it's the basic stuff you need and then you add eggs and milk and that kind of stuff as you're mixing it up to cook. The ranches and sauces and shit that's obviously gross, i am not even going to mention, they're just going to quietly find their way into my trash bags that go out Sunday night. quote:
ORIGINAL: LadyConstanze I would suggest it to them and tell them that it doesn't look healthy and you're worried about them getting food poisoning. Dunno about the US, but in some European countries everything needs an expiry date, even if it is clearly BS (coffee doesn't expire, nor does olive oil or items like soap), the cake mix might actually still be alright if it has no eggs in it.
