http://www.examiner.com/article/karl-rove-predicts-romney-loss-to-obama

"Republican strategist Karl Rove, who is considered the architect of George W. Bush's two successful campaigns for the White House, is predicting that Mitt Romney will have a difficult time beating Barack Obama in the general election in November.

According to Rove, the situation is so dire that if the election were held today, Obama would win handily.

Romney is the presumptive Republican nominee, although he does not yet have enough delegates to win.

Rove is known for his pinpoint accuracy in predicting how the states will vote in general elections. In 2008 he correctly predicted the election results in 48 out of 50 states.

In an interview with NewsMax yesterday, Rove states that if the election were held today, Obama would win 284 electoral votes compared to Romney's 157. A candidate must win at least 270 electoral votes to gain the presidency."

Kinda. But not.

You see, the fact that Obama would win the election today if it were held right now means nothing except that this follows a normal pattern when an incumbant faces a challenger about to emerge as the winner of his party's primary. What is perhaps more telling is Romney was 15 points behind Obama a few weeks ago but is almost even now. This is a solid trend and that trend suggests to even the casual observer that although Obama would win the election if held today it also suggests he would not win it if it were held a week from now.

If you are a Democrat, you would wish that were so, but it isn't. Beside, Romney could talk about Obama broken promises but that does not get a lot of votes. It's the economy and the economy and also the economy and not the fictional war on women or minorities or the poor. Sorry.

Except that you're ignoring the huge difference in support that women have vis-a-vis Romney v Obama, you might like to think that them tying the issue of college loans to cutting the funding for womens health service is a 'fictional' war, but that just shows that Rosie Palm is about the only girlfriend you've ever had.

There is an overwhelming support for Democrats from women. Mainly because they don't want to transvaginal ultrasound any women who wants to get an abortion.

But, yeah. I'm sure it's a 'fictional war.'

With Clinton stumping for Obama, I suspect Obama's numbers to improve greatly.

When I think of Bill I think of stains on a dress, broken marriage, failed health care plan led by Hillary. I suspect non-Democrats do not vote based on a recommendation from Bill.

I think of an economy and social plan that embraced all, job growth, moonbat nutjobs obsessed with bullshit, and more money in everyones pocket.

And that includes the poor and middle class, unlike GWB.

The rest of us think of a strong economy, and not being in two unwinnable wars. Whatever Clinton's faults (he had quite a few), the fact is that the country as a whole was doing better than under any President since.

I suspect that if Clinton were the nominee for wither party, he would demolish either Romney or Obama in a landslide.

Back on topic - did anyone actually read the linked article in the Examiner, It basically trashes Rove as being part of the GOP "establishment" and says that that establishment said that genuine conservatives wouldn't have a chance and only moderates like Romney would. And now they're saying Romney has no chance.

papassion -> RE: What Would Do If A Top GOP Strategist Predicted Obama Will Win Reelection? (5/1/2012 2:10:52 PM)

With Clinton stumping for Obama, I would think Obama is in panic mode. Bill Clinton is "superman" for Democrats. Is it just me or everytime Clinton is asked a question, his answer seems to be a jab at Obama. His statement that "now is not the time to be raising taxes" goes big time against Obama's campaign agenda. And other seemingly "innocent" comments that go against Obama. Don't know if its my imagination or if Clinton hasn't forgotten how badly Obama's campaign gang treated Hillary.
