subrob1967 -> US Senate 99 Obama's Budget 0 (5/16/2012 4:20:05 PM)

US House Of Representatives 414 Obama's budget 0... Wow, just wow, NOT A SINGLE VOTE for a sitting President's proposal.

quote:

President Obama's budget suffered a second embarrassing defeat Wednesday, when senators voted 99-0 to reject it.

Coupled with the House's rejection in March, 414-0, that means Mr. Obama's budget has failed to win a single vote in support this year.

Republicans forced the vote by offering the president's plan on the Senate floor.

Democrats disputed that it was actually the president's plan, arguing that the slim amendment didn't actually match Mr. Obama's budget document, which ran thousands of pages. But Republicans said they used all of the president's numbers in the proposal, so it faithfully represented his plan.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, Alabama Republican, even challenged Democrats to point out any errors in the numbers and he would correct them — a challenge no Democrats took up.

"A stunning development for the president of the United States in his fourth year in office," Mr. Sessions said of the unanimous opposition.

I'd say this sums it up best...
Bwahahahaha

What Needs Summing UP Is Rob's Political Acumen

Not in the Washington Post (which is the one of the actual NEWSPAPERS in the city Rob so faithfully reports about)...They tell a different story:

The U.S. Senate formally rejected President Obamas $3.8 trillion budget request Wednesday, along with a series of Republican alternatives, as Republicans forced votes on the competing budget plans to highlight Democrats failure to advance a formal budget resolution.

Oh, and the other thing Rob doesn't tell ya about this TOTAL SIDESHOW ACT is .... IT WASN'T A VOTE FOR PASSAGE. It was to send it to the floor for debate. So the president's budget is not in fact dead.
Of course he also doesn't tell you that every proposal the republicans introduced today failed miserably. And WHY? Because it's all bullshit. Romney is starting to get his ass fucked right out from under him and John Boehner's little stunt got seen as such RIGHT OUT OF THE GATE THIS TIME. So they needed a diversion. thank god ther were no countries they could declare war on.

There isn't One fucking person in DC that believes that was Obama's budget including the GOP assholes who altered it and forced a vote to get rid of the REAL STORY

Rob doesn't probably understand this but they went into a mad panic when they learned how fucking far behind Romney is in several battle ground states ... most notably New Hampshire where we've been told he would sweep ... ROMNEY IS DOWN 13 POINTS in the state his family has had HUGE property holdings in for 4 or 5 decades.
That's the real story "Boehner Caught Red Handed Scamming The Citizens Out Of Representative Government", along with "Mitt Romney Sinks In The Polls In Backyard Battleground State - More To Follow"

Sorry Skippy, if you would have actually read the link I posted, you would have seen...
quote:

The Senate is holding votes Wednesday on Mr. Obama's budget, the House GOP's budget and the three Senate Republican alternatives. None was expected to gain the 50 votes needed to pass the chamber.

As for the panic... It's Obama that should be panicking, dontcha think?

So as usual, you're wrong Skippy... Romney ain't my guy, and Obama ain't got a record to run on.

NOT WITH A 13 Point lead

Wrong answer Pal...

(CNN) – The race between President Barack Obama and likely Republican nominee Mitt Romney is in a dead heat in Wisconsin, a poll released Wednesday indicated.

The survey from Marquette Law School showed both Obama and Romney garnering support from 46% of likely voters in Wisconsin. The numbers reflect a boost for Romney, who faced a four point deficit in the state the last time Marquette polled likely voters in April.

SternSkipper -> RE: US Senate 99 Obama's Budget 0 (5/16/2012 8:13:31 PM)

Wow Rob... that's really bad news for Romney.
Based on the past history Romney should be way ahead.,... tragic

Got any more bad news about Romney you need to get off your chest?

SternSkipper -> RE: US Senate 99 Obama's Budget 0 (5/16/2012 8:19:01 PM)

You heard Romney is now running from reporters and throwing aides and secret service in their way so he doesn't have to answer the hard questions, right?
Not a very stand up guy.

Even though Wisconsin is the birthplace of the Republican party, you really have to consider the current lack of popularity for the Republican party due to the likes of Governor Walker and Rep. Ryan. I'd say that if Romney thinks he's going to win Wisconsin he's going to have to find a way to spread a thick layer of fertilizer over a lot of farm country here.

That bullshit poll you linked has a very small demographic, not nearly enough to get any kind of accurate read on public opinion.

quote:

The Marquette Law School poll was conducted by phone from 600 likely voters between May 9-12. The sampling error was plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.

1) Walker will not be recalled, the majority of support for his recall is from out of state unions.
2) Obama shredded McStain in Ws in 08, but Ws became a battleground state in 10 when the GOP kicked ass and won everything.
3) Likely voter polls are the most accurate, which is why Rasmussen kicks everyone's ass in polling.
4) The only fertilizer being spread up there is coming from the Donkeys.

Let me see if I get this straight rob...

The Republicans try to turn a document that's several thousand pages into a few dozen, and STILL call it the President's Plan? However, if that were true, I could write 'Game of Thrones' and 'Fire & Ice' on to a napkin and than sue the real folks that have the show and merchanise for fully 100% of the profits. Does that sound sane and 'ok' to you? That is how silly the Republican looks. Unfortuantely, we all know that conservatives, will never amass the brain power needed to 'think critically' of what is told to them by the ever 'truthful' machine: FOX News. The real truth is, the document the Republicans submitted was not the President's plan (do a google search on 'president budget 2012, then go to whitehouse.gov). The Republicans boiled down a very well thought out plan to buzz words and then tried to state its someone else's work. That would be pretty low and sleazy for most folks, but for Republicans, this is 'business as usual'.

Funny that you slam the President over the petty stuff every hour, but yet, can not hold the Republicans to even the same level (if not twice that) of the President on the whole concepts of 'accountbility' and 'responsibility'. If you did, you would have realized this information was a total lie pushed by people that have less morals than the Taliban!

I missed that one, but have heard all kinds of shit about the man. Of course it's coming from the left and their track record for telling the truth isn't too high, so I am ignoring most of it.

fucktoyprincess -> RE: US Senate 99 Obama's Budget 0 (5/17/2012 5:29:36 AM)

I think calling it Obama's budget is not really fair given the modifications. It is no longer what he originally proposed.

So I think it's fair to say that whatever watered down version the Republicans came up with ended up being unpalatable to everyone. No surprise there.

You've got it backwards. The support for his recall came from the voters of Wisconsin. He (Walker) had to go out of state for support because he has very little support in the state.

Would be more accurate.

Musicmystery -> RE: US Senate 99 Obama's Budget 0 (5/17/2012 7:37:54 AM)

In short, as Rassmussen's mission is to skew numbers to look Republican, he does well when Republicans win, and poorly when they don't.

But he did poorly in 2010 too. 2008 was really in the average group. 2004 was his hey day.

Where in the hell did you get this information????? SO I guess the over 1 million people who sign the recall petitions in WISCONSIN don't support the recall of Walker????

As for out of state money why don;t you look at walkers appearance schedule for the last 6 months and the released camp funds statement showing the majority of his money is from out of state people.

Musicmystery -> RE: US Senate 99 Obama's Budget 0 (5/17/2012 7:43:14 AM)

Out of state money is the reality in these matters. Remember NY's 23rd? Until redistricting, I lived in that district, and wtf, in a local Congressional election, we've got Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich ... you get the idea. And they managed to lose a seat that had been Republican for a century--the last time it hadn't gone Republican, it had gone Whig!

servantforuse -> RE: US Senate 99 Obama's Budget 0 (5/17/2012 7:57:09 AM)

Subseven, 1 million people didn't sigh those recall petitions. Not even close. Several signed them 80 + times. Walker is leading in the polls by 6 % points. The DNC is refusing to fund this thing any further. Unions spent 4 million on their candidate ( kathleen falk ) and she got 18 % of the primary vote. Walker will remain as governor of Wisconsin..
