Don't worry, one thing hasn't changed. You're still getting credit as Abba's earliest adopter.

As I should.

If we are to go by musical relevance, they rate higher than post-'71 Grapeful Dread, to begin with.

I was into musical relevance somewhat before that, so all the rest outside of classical music or some selected jazz or folk music is all just lipstick and eye shadow to me. ABBA had prettier and more alluring teeth than the G Dead, and as equally or greater musical relevance. Agnetha and her two CinemaScope teeth, with a standard aspect ratio gap between them, was a turn-on. As were all eighty-seven of Ani-Frid's teeth. The latter's teeth showed more diversity in any one song than Garcia's guitar solos did over an entire career.

Actually, the tax cuts from 2003 pushed dividends into the 15% territory also.

Qualified dividends only.

Ordinary dividends are taxed at the earned income rate.

Again, do try to keep your eye on the ball here... as has been repeatedly explained to you:

1)  A poster here stated that "average citizens" lack "the wherewithall" to invest, and thereby lack the the opportunity to benefit from Capital Gains -- THIS IS FALSE!!!

2)  Contrary to what was cited in the OP by Nicky-idiot, there is no alleged "privilege" given to one group of people vs. another -- EVERYONE IS AFFORDED THE SAME 15% RATE ON CAPITAL GAINS, whether you're a CEO or a Cashier!!!  Period... despite your obsession with the argument you're obviously having with yourself on who utilizes Cap Gains to a lesser/greater degree.

"Who utilizes Cap Gains to a lesser/greater degree" is exactly the point.

Status quo = not creating jobs.

Uhh... NO... as it's not a "privilege", as stated by Nicky-idiot in the OP -- ALL are free to invest and realize a Capital Gain, whether said investment is in a $1.00 or $100,000 stock or other instrument.  As of this writing, Facebook, for example, is trading at $32.00 per share -- who's stopping you or anyone from buying it?!!  NOBODY!!!  Therefore there is no alleged "privilege" (as idiotically stated by Nicky-boi) being given to ANYONE.

But the deregulation of Russia created more jobs for their mafia, and financial deregulation in the US likewise created more jobs for mortgage brokers by way of further entrance into poor widow's soon-to-be-lost homes.

Are you overlooking all the economic advantage in all this? Well, OK, for some few, but it makes the overall numbers look better and is an easy shell game that is easy to push upon the populace.

Never in history, with all it's horrors, have we seen such drooling idolatry of those who have-not towards those-who-have as is witnessed here.

And we all know relevance is ALL ABOUT PRETTY.

Utter nonsense.

The barriers to engaging in activities that might cause someone to pay cap gains are many.

Buying stock requires a brokerage account with someone. Those always have fairly hefty minimum deposits.
Buying real estate for investment purposes requires having the down payment, which is usually at least 10% of the selling price.
Then comes the knowledge needed to do well in either venture.
Then is the time needed to keep up on the investment. Some guy working 2 part time jobs or some salaried type working 60 hours a week to keep his job simply do not have the time or energy to handle an investment portfolio.

That's a good one - I'd not heard it before. But a pearl before swine I think, Ron.

Yeah, whatever you say.

The allusion to ABBA and whatever else in that regard as promulgated previously or else wise was clearly (for those sufficiently coherent of mind) intended as "fun and play" for those having moved well beyond that. I was just dealing with the situation at hand, at the time. My "rock band" got pushed out of the way by disco, ABBA included, and as time goes on I cannot thank them enough for it.

Those with requisite mental capacity could have seen that I was toying with the pop music genre or 'alternative' genre of whatever era or whatever else crap that we have been besotted with along the way. The point being; If we HAVE to have such things, ABBA is as good as any of the rest of it, because there is so little of any musical relevance or especially of musical merit in any regard.

If we move beyond musical considerations, then yes, ALL ABOUT PRETTY -does- matter, and you entirely missed the joke, whether rendered by me or anyone else, for decades, in fact.

I think the issue here is that you somehow came to think this was a serious debate.
No matter, we'll both live I'm sure. I for one thought the theme was to out grandiose the other, in as much as that is a recurrent theme in your posts.
Like I said though no matter.

Bullshit. The OP is written by a very successful guy. Nor does it complain about wealth at all.

It DOES point out that trickle down doesn't work, and those resources allocated to more tax cuts for more trickle-down that doesn't work do not create jobs.

Most businesses are small businesses. Policies that support middle class endeavors create jobs.

And yet again, that's if they have capital to invest.

That's not the norm for the bulk of most people's income.

That's the point.

It was you who came out swinging on post #2 with "Hmmm... and where does the idiot think the money from said consumers comes from so that they can "afford" to purchase?!!"

So....where do you think the money from said consumers comes from so that they can "afford" to purchase?!!

You posses much greater capacity regarding grandiosity than I could ever hope to attain. Or should I rather state that as greater more attainiosity to aggrandizement than I am obtainable of.

Your Velcro attachment to me regarding the pop group ABBA will always be cherished, nonetheless. I was in fact 'in the biz' to some extent as far as being a member of 'some band,' or in the studio control room, or mixing monitors or front of house (FOH) for a great variety of entertainment propositions.

My best experiences were with local dance companies, on stage, and the other talent (especially the Flamenco) they brought into the situation at times. But the local Indian or Honduran or Klezmer or whatever else bands were not far behind.

Good gosh, ... I have to explain everything, it seems.

That comment was in regards responses to the OP, not to the OP itself.

I'm having a difficult time in this as of late.

PLEASE tell me that the self-professed saviors of the world Northerners or New Engenders are capable of more than what we have seen here lately.

Not to say that I am counting on it, any more than I would count on the Unis for their input on anything either.
