I was not bashing confidence and over confident people, We were talking about fakes and people who portray to be over confident online, when in the real world they can't look someone in the eye while talking to them.

it's pretty typical, esp with the unrealistic seeming ones, mostly with women in their 20s. once into the 30s, seems to be less fakes ones. at least it seems so, based on their profiles and pics. i doubt it's any increase, always like that.

Who is speculating?? I said portraying... Ppl portray their confidence when in reality when you meet they are not, amongst other things. No one is talking about speculation... We are discussing the fact that people say what they want in order to create a pseudo of something they are not and when it comes time to meet they run away because they can not live up to the expectation they create. You and many others write without understanding the subject matter, picking phrases for what they are and not by what they mean in the context of the paragraph or conversation and what is sad is that most of you have English as the first language.
