I'm from the old "spit & pray" days too. However, in 2002 I had a slave who's mind was more willing than her ass was and she wanted to give it to me so badly. A little training was in order and so was lube when it came down to doing the deed. I bought all kinds of stuff . . . it's not that I didn't mind hurting her, I just didn't want to break it. She had such a fine bubble butt, it would have been a shame tear it up or put it out of commission for any length of time.

Because I had to be gentle and couldn't just haul off and stab her to death in the ass with my cock like a crazed rapist, it took time. I discovered which lubes lasted and which ones failed to go the distance or dry up too soon. Also, the butt plug in her ass overnight for training made for some sticky situations in the morning if I used the wrong lube. Once I used some flavored water based lube and in the morning the damn things was literally glued in. I had to take her in the shower and slowly break the seal with my finger so water could get in and melt the glue. Once I got it wet, it turned back in to lube again.

Who would design a lube that dries up into glue? Was that some evil joke?

There is a makeup remover used by Hollywood makeup people called Albolene, which also works as a very good lubricant.

It's also ridiculously inexpensive at around $12 for a large jar. Available at most CVS, Payless, Rite-Aid and online drugstores.

That reminds me of a vitamin e cream that we used. Stuff that is more creamy than runny works better and stays where you put it.

One of my Fetl friends swears by--coconut oil. Frozen into bullet shapes. She uses those ice cube trays that are for drink bottles and such. Shove it in there and it melts as needed. What can I say, the very IDEA of a frozen thing... well.

Water based lubes dry to a crust. They are also used for locking down soils so they don't blow in the wind.
K-Y Jelly, Ultrasound Gel, and Duratek Lockdown are chemically the same stuff.. yep, it dries to like a glue.

Petroleum based lubes, like Vaseline, will dissolve a condom or any other latex product.

Just go old school and use a vegetable based lube. Nutragena Body Oil is based on sesame oil and fewer people have allergies to that and it doesn't go rancid like olive oil.

Silicone lubes are great especially if water is involved. Astroglide, sex grease, j-lube are good water based ones in my opinion. J-lube is crazy good, but it's a pain in the ass to work with as it's usually in powder form although you can get premixed stuff too.

Wow I have had a lot of replies!! I have had exams so not been on to check! But thank you to all who have replied!

What is irritating is that I used to be fine with anything...just opened up nicely. But now my arse just doesn't seem to take it....though it has been a very long time I guess.

I like the sound of neutrogena oil and the astroglide! Thanks everyone.

Perhaps our resident wax expert will be by to advise if wax (Paraffin, Ceresin) should be used internally.

Note that Petrolatum (Petroleum jelly) weakens latex condoms, increasing the chance of rupture.

But do spring for "silicone" rather than "flexible."

These came up in the search and looked great, got them, unpacked them, noticed a bad plastic-y rubber-y odor; our original small ones had no odor. I washed them several times but could not eliminate the odor, not just unpleasant odor but it seemed to be getting more and more foul the more I washed them. So I am on Amazon looking for the old smaller type trays and they can not be found, so I decide to write a review for these. I read through the ad again and to my surprise and shame-on-me, these are not silicone! The ad only refers to them as flexible ice tube trays and plastic and rubber are both flexible, but plastic and rubber or latex words are not in the description anywhere either so I do not know the true materials that theses are made from. When the foul taste of the ice cubes came out of the foul smelling trays I pitched them to the trash. The ice cubes themselves tasted bad and once they started melting in our water bottles the water began to taste tainted.

I've tried every kind of lube. Some really expensive... and I still find simple KY to be the most comfortable.

Anything that says hand wash is not silicone: silicone is very durable.

Now we need new ice trays. ...now how do you explain to guests not to use the 'special' ice trays???

We would highly recommend flax....boil it with a little bit of water, strain, and you have an amazing lube that doesn't run off but isn't too thick either. Excellent for anal. Get in the shower for good fun too. :)

I found water based lubes best for me and are easy to clean up after .
