Seriously, saliva works, otherwise it depends on whether you're using a condom or not, I think organics are to be avoided, unless you're into lavage, for which normal saline is recommended, as there is a risk of fungal growth if you leave it in there for more than a few hours - otherwise, if bareback, anything slick will work - mineral oil is not that slick for example, corrn oil is better, and not too benign to fungus.

Your silicone's are the best all around, tasteless and very slick, although not as viscous as I would prefer, but pricy, and while it doesn't take a whole lot, repeated applications are usually necessary. Everyone has their preferences.

Heard raves about gum arabic, I think it is, very viscous, and which you can by in bulk, but I'm not sure about the fungal risk, a lavage in the am should take care of that if there is any doubt.

Wet Platinum. Never had to reapply, washes off, tasteless, and inexpensive.

One of my Fetl friends swears by--coconut oil. Frozen into bullet shapes. She uses those ice cube trays that are for drink bottles and such. Shove it in there and it melts as needed. What can I say, the very IDEA of a frozen thing... well.

There is also cocoa butter - used that for years as a suppository on my ex. It's a solid with a very low melting point, you don't need to freeze it, it will solidify at around room temperature, melts at body temp, and can be molded into any shape - it does take some time to melt however,the bigger the chunk, the longer it takes of course, so it's hardly instant, and neither is it the slickest substance, maybe a bit slicker than mineral oil, performance improves with a water based lube (like saliva), or silicone on top of it, but you don't need to worry about losing any little toys you might make it up there, they'll just melt away eventually.

I'll have to try Sesame oil, I use it in cooking a lot, but I noticed it gets gluey after a while on the shelf, so I imagine you'd have to replenish with fresh stuff regularly depending on how frequently you use it.

J-lube is by far the best lubricant. Mix a little of the powder with water and...SLUUUUURRRRPPPPP- it'll slide right in! (ok, maybe after some prep). It's safe, easy to clean up- it's used in vetinary work. You'll fit things up there you didn't even know you could.

I have a newer silicone lube called "Pink". It's made specifically for women and women's anal recreational activities ;)

The best way I have found to use it is to use a couple of squirts on myself AND coat the toy with it, then use a little bit of KY jelly...like a lube sammich (mmmm sammichez) and holy cow that's a slippery tomato!
It DOES get a bit messy, so yes, use a dedicated towel. But the feel is worth the mess.
