Puella,

A thoughtful and interesting post.  Your personal experience is illuminating to those of us with less of a connection.

Thanks for sharing your insight.

Well, Oedipus, I wasn't raised Catholic -- far from it -- but the "schoolgirl" works for Me, too.  I am Jewish, and went to a high school that was probably 20% Jewish, 20% Catholic, and the balance Protestant, and a smattering of everything else.  There was a major Catholic girl's high school just down the street.  All that forbidden fruit!  First, the "bad" girls would roll up the hemlines (a girlfriend who attended the school told me the rules...kneeling length, etc....but she also told me how they cheated).  And this was in the 70s when skirts were a rarity elsewhere.  Second, there was always that sense of vulnerability that a skirt over knee socks gives off...nothing protecting those sweet, supposedly virgin pussies but a thin cotton panty.  mmmmmmm.

Oh my.  Now I'm gonna have to go take a shower *GRIN*  Ohhhh Hollly.....where ARE you?

E.

"It's the same thing," he said.

Roman Catholic...did the Catholic school thing.

Have now altered my uniform, He loves it, and frankly, I wish I'd met him years ago...would've given me cause to appreciate it more when I needed it most lol

I grew up Catholic. It might explain some things about my need for BDSM. It could also explain my crucifixion fetish.

1. I will always remember Mathew Manalfolfi burping into the microphone during First Holy Communion.

2. In third grade I remember feeling the power of God and the safety of the church after having my first confession.

3. Sister Deschontle, otherwise known as BIG D, terrified us all with her glass eye and demand for iron discipline. On father son night, some of us snuck up from the Gym into the classrooms to goof around, and we heard BIG D coming to get us. Our narrow escape from her clutches felt nothing short of escaping the gestapo.

4. What Catholic Child does not remember the "sensitive" nun telling his class the inspiring Biblical stories of Noah's Arc, Jeasus turning water into wine, the story of the Prodigal son, or explaining the the stations of the cross?

5. Of course there's the generic stuff of lunch cards and boxes, khaki pants and blue shirts, saddles shoes on girls, gym uniforms, clip on ties, erasers in the shape of animals, reciting prayers, jungle gyms and merry-go-rounds, and when somewhat older --- flag football.

My husband was raised Roman Catholic, he was even an alter boy (he's healing now *w*)
He has a big thing for the whole school-girl uniform. Mind you he went to an all boys school for a period so that explains a few things too *s*  He only ever had ugly  interactions with the Nuns. I was actually suprised a few years ago when he mentioned God, I had ussumed he was agnostic but he stunned me by still having some faith after dealing with the dogma of the Catholic Church.
I grew up with an Anglican family but no one really practiced their faith, I'm actually a bit envious of those who have faith since I don't. I want hard physical proof, which doesn't work with faith..
I do have a whole Priest in a frock fantasy *g* (I love roleplay)

Lots of good feedback here.  Don't want to single anyone out, since they're all interesting, but appreciated hearing from non-Catholics as well.  Hadn't thought of it from that perspective.

Fascinating....

I read a good joke posting on Catholic school girls, and it eventually got me thinking.   I say eventually, because I clicked on that topic fast - which was a visceral reaction that surprised me a little.

So, when actual thought kicked back in, I wondered:  How many people here raised Catholic have visceral/instinctive reactions to images from Catholic upbringing?

I'm hoping to avoid too much discussion of the usual crucifixes/madonnas/ kind of imagery, but if that's where it leads, it does.  Positive stories would also be good, rather than rants against the church (plenty of space for that elsewhere).

I was thinking more about things like whether the nuns scared (or enticed, I suppose) you, what kinds of punishment rituals might be associated in your minds with Catholic school, or perhaps whether Catholic school uniforms might provoke an arousal response.

My own upbringing is tinged with all sorts of things that can be associated with Catholice images.  I don't consider myself a Catholic ever since I first had a real choice, and I'm not religeous, but you can't spend all that time in the system and not absorb a hell of a lot.

Anyone else?

Spent 10 yrs of my life in catholic school (until they finally kicked me out for good).....What sticks in my mind the most to this day is when I was in 5th grade.......I had two teachers, one a nun, Sister Marie John (OMG I remember her name) and Mrs Mellagrano........Sister Marie John had this thing with dust brushes.....She could peg the back of head at 30 paces with that dust brush (Damn those things hurt)......Mrs Mellagrano, her big thing was the metal rulers (ya'll remember them, they rang if ya dropped em on the floor).  Well she would have us put our hand(s) palm down on the desk so that our knuckles rested on the edge and BAM she would crack our knuckles with that damn ruler,  I still have small scars from that sob.

It wasn't until I reached catholic high school that I realized that the FIRE AND BRIMSTONE they preached was bogus........and I walked away (again like I said, they assisted by throwing me out).  I am no longer an active member of the catholic church or any church for that matter....I believe God lives in all of us, and we don't need a building to be closer to Him.....I guess I have Sister Marie John and Mrs Mellagrano to thank for making me see the folly of the "organized catholic religion"

i didnt grow up in a catholic house, but went to catholic school my entire life, (My mother was anglacin my father catholic, My grandmother insisted on a catholic up bringing, my parents divorced and my mother kept us in school)

When i see Nuns, all i can think back to is 5th grade when my Teacher, Sister Rose Mary screamed at me for going up to ask for help on a Math question, she just lost it on me, when all i wanted was help....

There are definitly other things that i remember....the uniforms....the Mass every month...Nothing strikes in my mind as strongly as that though.....

I went to Catholic school. (We didn't have uniforms, though.) I have very vivid memories of Spanish nuns who physically punished the boys, but not the girls, (I guess you can say I learned from the best! lol) and never sweat in 100% weather in spite of the veil, wimple, scapular and the three blouses and six skirts that they wore. Total proof that they were saints.

Something about the uniforms get's me too. My Mistress wants me to dress like a schoolgirl and seduce me that way. as if She were a teacher and She put me in my place.

I was not raised a catholic.  I wasn't really raised to be anything other than a woman.
But I did become a christian in my early 20s.  Still am.  Ok thats the background.

I do have a religious icon fetish.  It is huge for me.  I can orgasm just walking into a religious building (be that church, temple or whatever) or holding something representative.  I have never and do not have any negative feelings on anything religious.  I just find the whole spiritual elements intensely arousing.  I can have intense feelings of arousel from the stone, the wood, the smell - anything that strikes or can be interpreted as religious.  I can also orgasm to organ and choral music, chants and meditations.

Not sure if that helps any with your question?  If you are wondering anything specific just ask, or mail me.

Peace and Rapture

Darkinshadows,
I would like to invite you to my church.

My family, father and some schools tried to raise me as catholic, but they failed because my mother rules and Goddess is awesome. :)

Can this thread be allowed to disappear down the list. Every time I see it I am reminded of J in her straw boater hat, lifting her skirt and removing her bottle green school knickers some thirty years ago.

I just keep breaking out in hot sweats.
