A poem about that churning heart sinking, can't breathe, want to cry feeling you get when you think you may be in deep doo-doo when as He says, 'your mouth has been cashing cheques your ass cannot cash' the areas in italics are meant to be read in a rush, it is meant to be somewhat disjointed, because that is how it feels Remember to breathe Take a deep breath to steady your nerve Straighten your back, hands on thighs, Don’t frown, don’t glare, don’t narrow those eyes Look Him square in the face. And breathe… Defiance is pointless It amuses Him He reads it the moment you feel it, and you know by His smile… And your heart skips a beat and your mouth turns dry And you can’t hold His gaze, how ever you try Remember to breathe… Soft laughter, your discomfort is plain He watches you struggle… He whispers your name His words are electric, they light up your day, they brighten your night They shatter your soul and make it all right Its hard to breathe When your heart's in your mouth And your tummy is churning And Master is watching The lesson you’re learning. Stay calm And just breathe Your shoulders are shaking, and you’re almost in tears You need His approval, to banish your fears And He looks into your eyes, and whispers your name He strokes your cheek, and soothes the pain And says you’re a good girl And you are happy again. and you breathe.
