I agree, only handling exclusively all communications emanating from a campaign on behalf of the Candidate is such a marginal role this is clearly personal communications. I better get back to my colleague Barbara and tell her it's okay to tell republicans about the "Rip off their heads and shit down their necks" platform item that she would add if it were her campaign as part of her press releases.

The topic here is outrageous comments by a Republican spokesman. How many of the comments in your link are by spokesmen for Democratic candidates?

After some extended digging through Firm's google search, it appears that Sandra Bernhard and Orlando Jones, a couple of has been comedians, are now equivalent to the official spokesman for a GOP congressperson, at least in his mind.

Lets see, for the Rape Sarah Palin point, that joke was made by Sandra Bernhard, who was dropped from a benefit for a woman's shelter for the joke.

Now the Kill Sarah Palin joke originated from comedian Orlando Jones.

Since when are stand up comics spokespersons for the Democratic party, OR democrats in office?

Now if you can show links where it was an elected official or an official spokesman for some Democrat in office who said these things, I would agree that they should be fired or voted out of office.

By the way, when Sarah Palin was mayor of Wasilla Alaska, did you know that the city government run by Palin required women who were raped to PAY FOR THEIR OWN RAPE EXAMINATIONS?

Don't get hung up on just Palin. The question is who spews the most hate speech and vile threats, and just plain uncivil words against the other.

The "liberal left", including many elected officials in the Democratic Party are far from pure.

Google: "democrat hate speech" or whatever else you want, if you want to open your eyes.

Here is just one small list.

As I said, fire Townsend. In the meantime, you guys need to get the beam out of your own eyes.

We have admitted that democrats are just as heavy into making inflammatory statements.

This topic deals with an OFFICIAL REPUBLICAN aid and spokesperson for an elected official.

Well, if we're fair Sandra Bernhard is a lot funnier than Rush Limpdick, who pretty much is the Republican party at the moment, despite being a mere harmless "entertainer". It's not like elected politicians have to make grovelling apologies to Limpdick if they don't sound neocon batshit enough to suit him, after all: they just choose to do so because he's so entertaining.

You know, I think generally, people know when comedians, or even other people, are truly saying something to elicit a laugh, and when people are saying something with the larger intention of spewing hatred. I realize the distinction, when one tries to explain it, is incredibly subtle.

So here is the thing. Is anyone on here actually trying to say that the acid comment was meant to be funny?

I don't think funny is really an issue here: the main thrust of all the defensive comments is that any democrat who finds such comments from a party spokesman offensive is a hypocrite because a few lefty comedians made some nasty jokes about caribou Barbie, so actually drawing a distinction between jokes and offhand bullshit from a misogynist who's supposedly speaking for a politician won't be something they'll be keen on in this case, will it?
