Did you hit the "go" button?

Eeeeks! Did you know that hitting that go button will send 6 months worth of cmails to
your personal email? Read ones, deleted unread ones, etc. Ayayayy! :)

I also experience his issue of not receiving Collarme notifications on my offsite email address.
It was just last week I was mentioning it to someone, and it seemed to have resolved itself.
Well, except for now that Okeanos has mentioned it. [:(]

Wow, I'm definitely done. People were nice (which is not always the case here lemme tell ya) and trying to honestly help you and then you post your little n00b gem that comes off very condescending.

LadyPact -> RE: Shouldn't there exist some technical help forum? (6/12/2012 2:40:42 PM)

Dude, and I'm supposed to know that you are a computer professional, how?

Yes, poise, I know it gives you the whole six months.  It works for Me though, since I have a bad habit of forgetting things people send Me.  LOL.

kalikshama -> RE: Shouldn't there exist some technical help forum? (6/12/2012 2:43:12 PM)

I had a funny problem yesterday in that my password somehow changed to all caps and the information that was stored in my browser's password manager no longer worked. The password reset link on collarchat did not work, but I eventually realized that the one on collarme did.

Before that, I created a new profile so that I could email Support and I've been amusing myself with the silly people who would bother to email a completely blank profile with no pictures.

And the guy in an open marriage who won't let me talk to his wife to verify that. He had me rolling! Transcript available to your CMail on request.

~laughing~ Lead me not into temptation, kalikshama!

sincelo -> RE: Shouldn't there exist some technical help forum? (6/12/2012 2:48:10 PM)

wow i wish i had this problem. I have unchecked the box that says send me email notifications so many times and yet still i get them. its annoying!! I am pretty capable of just checking the mail system here.

Are you clicking Save Changes before clicking Done?

That sort of thing prevented me from changing my avatar for the longest time, and I have a Computer Science degree.

lo fing l

m2, and similar background

being knowledgeable about something doesn't mean you can't make really stoooopid mistakes or oversights. that's why teams are good, the more heads, the better (pun intended).

Okeanos -> RE: Shouldn't there exist some technical help forum? (6/12/2012 2:55:40 PM)

Yes, I know people are not always very nice over here. Or anywhere, for that matter. And you know why that is for the most part? Because they tend to see condescendence everywhere around them, and they react accordingly. But that's okay. I am used to it.

@LadyPact I did not suggest that you ought to know.

Uhm, let's see, any other ideas, anyone?

poise -> RE: Shouldn't there exist some technical help forum? (6/12/2012 2:57:19 PM)

Last but not least, sign up for a free email account elsewhere, say, hotmail or yahoo (ugh!).
Update your information with the new email address, reset your cookies, etc, and see if that works. ?

yes, i'm being mean now. i can't contain my laughter, that you're still trying.

Well, if everyone around you thinks you are condescending you might want to open to the possibility that you are, in fact, condescending. That certainly is the impression you gave here.

tazzygirl -> RE: Shouldn't there exist some technical help forum? (6/12/2012 3:08:48 PM)

Oh girl, that I wanna see!

Okeanos -> RE: Shouldn't there exist some technical help forum? (6/12/2012 3:26:40 PM)

@poise OK, I will try that. It was next on my list of things to try, but first I wanted to see if there was any prior knowledge of the issue.

You have mail ;)

littlewonder -> RE: Shouldn't there exist some technical help forum? (6/12/2012 3:46:15 PM)

Oh I'm so glad I didn't respond to someone who I would not call to fix my problems at work if he was our IT. I would fix it myself first. <shakes head>

I am sorry if this is off topic, but I was unable to find any other place where this would be more appropriate. I am having a technical issue. (Email-related.) The FAQ does not address it. So, I figured, perhaps this issue has been discussed in the forums, since others are bound to have had it before me. But there seems to be no place in the forums to discuss issues like this! Or is there one, and I just could not find it?

I think (I could be wrong...but I rarely am)....you have to actually ask a question for it to be (potentially) answered.

Okeanos -> RE: Shouldn't there exist some technical help forum? (11/15/2012 11:52:25 AM)

Just in case someone ever wanders in here looking for an answer to this question:

I changed the email address to something @gmail.com and lo and behold, it immediately started working.

Apparently collarme.com refuses to send any email to my personal domain.
My personal domain does not happen to be a dot-com domain.
(Discrimination against non-americans?)

And for those who might be tempted to suggest that perhaps my domain is not set up correctly, I assure you that its "intodns.com" report does not contain a single red mark.

poise -> RE: Shouldn't there exist some technical help forum? (11/15/2012 11:58:23 AM)

There are plenty of non-americans that use this site, so to say it was discrimination is a stretch.
I'm glad you did get it sorted though, and hope you can continue to enjoy your time here.

Yeah, I'm sure it's discrimination.

I've never had any issues receiving CM email sent to my domain which is not in the .com TLD, so I think that theory is bunk.

Which means absolutely nothing.
