Nothing new to report on the police side, DD. Otherwise, I did get a mailed confirmation from the bank that there is a stop payment on every check in the order. I have not, at this time, had an answer from the bank as to why the signatures were not compared. I've had assurances that it can't happen again, but that's hardly the same. Meanwhile, the credit union where I have my alternate account couldn't get the now primary debit card working right without follow-up, and they have far less customer support available on nights and weekends. Setting up the online access, for example, requires calling between 9-5 weekdays, while I am online, to make it happen. Had the branch where they opened up for me after hours not been available the minute we spotted this, we still could have gotten the fraud report in in a timely manner by the 24 hour phone support. I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do for new accounts, and direct deposit. I'll be getting a paper check next payday.
