You know, as much as I know about computers and can tell people tons of stuff on how to use and repair one, I have ever ever used a cam a day in my life and have no idea even how to operate one. Oh wait....there was one time I think for about 2 seconds and I don't even remember anything about it. That was when I still had a big, bulky desktop and cams were outrageously huge and you had to use a separate microphone to talk to the other person lol. If I vaguely remember, I think I had to have my daughter show me how to use it and after that I said something like "fuck it"...too much work....wanna meet for a coffee in about 10 mins? LOL

He asked why, I said If I voice it would be non d/s and there definitely would be no cam.
His seemed outrage that I wouldn't cam. He said " it seems like you don't trust me" My mind is racing with though of is this guy the biggest tool here. my response was" Of course I don't trust you, I don't know you. I would never put myself in a position to have my image plaster on the web by some stranger, who can take 3 minutes to know me.. which included knowing each others name.

So have you Cam or voice/cam with a stranger?

I don't leap into talking to people about BDSM stuff. I always approach them as a human being first, and begin by discussing vanilla stuff. That bores the creeps and they leave quickly. Personally, I don't know why you continued to talk to the guy to the extent you did, but I suppose you were getting something out of the exchange.

I don't cam with just anybody.. but maybe that's because because I've been chatting online to people since before cams. I can remember when scanning a photo of yourself to email someone was an effort on dialup.

I owe them nothing and to be honest, it took me a lot of effort to Skype with people I know, let alone ones I don't.

I have a computer science degree and while I'm confident I could quickly learn how to use a cam, I too would rather just meet for coffee.

Cams are a way to weed out fakes, I get that, but, there too many fakes asking to cam.
A proof pic would suffice, a screen name handwritten on a piece of paper, show enough of yourself in the pic to verify gender, but do not show enough to verify identity.

We have all been burned by people posing as others and been disappointed when the truth is out. When you are searching is when you are most vulnerable. There are too many people that want pics or will capture vid/cam feed for purposes that are not noble.

I wouldn't even trust that as verification. Hell, you can do a lot of stuff with MSPaint, let alone any of the photoshop type programs.

A determined fake will always deceive
A fake looking to get wanking material will seldom take the time, assuming a fake with a hard on has the knowledge

it only takes a few seconds to alter an existing photo, so the wankers really don't have to "take the time" . gimme a minute to dig up which folder I have stuck my photos in, and I cna prove it...

I am in digital media sales.

I have a cam. I never used it.

Why? My view on my potential relationships is not based on instant anything, unlike my business where technology is instantaneous.

Technology is great, but it has short circuited the getting to know process that dating used to be.

I am old fashioned. I believe if I posted more than one photo, believe that is me. I have no reason to post fake photos, so since I like how I look.

I don't have to verify anything. If you are a smart, savvy, sophisticated gentlemen who possesses finesse, then you, too, will be open to a few emails, then giving me your phone number. When I call you, I will be able to quickly discern whether I want to meet you. Then we meet.

I fail to see why this method has become outdated. Perhaps I missed something, but I don't know, dating and setting up meetings used to be fun. Now, not so much.

People are jaded for good reason with nut jobs out there, but honestly, taking a bit of leap of faith when meeting without requiring cams, etc. is nice.

I used to use my cam on here, but I don't any more. Because I'm only 20, a female and attract A LOT of attention it bothers me.....have to see whats its like for my boyfriend....may end up the same way.

I think cams and skype and all that are just bigger with the gen y'ers. My daughter is one and she uses cams,skype, and facetime every single day to talk to her friends. They like the feel of actually seeing someone's face on a screen while talking to them while I always find it annoying and I can't concentrate on the actual conversation. When we were in Portugal together and when we would both be calling our significant others she would get on her computer and Skye while I just got on the phone and called Master lol. I tried sometimes to follow along on Skye when she was talking to her guy but found the jerkiness of the images to just be annoying and agitated me.

I really think it may be a generation gap thing. The new generation grew up with basically computers wired to their brains lol. They really can't imagine a life without them and without interactions and proof of people on a screen even though they know how easy it is to manipulate. My daughter is an artist. She can manipulate a photo within mere seconds. Her fingers move so quickly I'm always in awe.

I'm sure I have pics out there somewhere that the ex took and spread around. I just shrug them off...no big deal to me. Hell, Master has a few pics...none face but again, no big deal.

I think unless you're planning on running for president or congress or are deciding to become some huge celebrity, No one cares.
